I got up the next morning and the first thing I
noticed was that it was nine in the morning and the second thing I noticed was that
Jennie wasn't in the room. She must've
gotten up earlier I thought.

I got fresh and went in the kitchen to gobble down
some breakfast and forget everything about the strange, scary night of
yesterday. I brought the coffee cup to my lips to take a sip when i started
hearing voices from the living room. It sure as hell was Jennie but she wasn't
alone but talking to someone, a woman probably. I went out to take a look at
who it was.

"Hey, Jennie who is she?" I asked as I saw an
attractive woman sitting next to her on the couch. She was around her 50's but
still looked cute in her curly, long black hair, light brown eyes and she was
as fair as Snow White! I smiled benevolently at her.

"Hey Keira meet Carla Andrews, she's Philip's
daughter"

Yeah I was dreaming of course but i had no idea
why I felt pain when I pinched my arm reluctantly.

"W...What? She's...Oh my God" I stared in
wide-eyed horror as Jen introduced me to her.

"Nice to meet you Keira" she stretched to shake my
hand. I did shake hands with her but in utter bewilderment.

"But...But where did she come from?" I asked Jen,
trembling from head-to-toe, still not believing my eyes.

"I got up
early this morning and went in search for 'Carla'. Knowing the fact that you
weren't interested, I went by myself and look here she is!" Jennie said.

"H-How'd
you...?" I stuttered continuously.

"It was just
a matter of going through a few registers and records. I didn't do it though,
the watch-guard did"

"I know my
father and my brother are desperately looking for me and I am looking forward
to your help in putting their spirits to rest" Carla said "Will you help me?
'Cause I have a 21 year old son and I certainly don't want him to get
involved."

Yeah, so you
found us to sacrifice our lives for you. Wonderful Jen, thanks...

"Sure, what
can we do?" she asked. I knew that she couldn't regret due to the way Carla
begged for help.

"We have to
call a priest or two, perform an Ouija session and bring their spirits to rest"

"What's an
'Ouija session'?" I asked trying to stretch the conversation.

"Ouija
session is when five people or more read out some chants, talk to spirits and
give them rest under certain conditions" replied Carla. Hearing that my face
went pale and my whole body became cold. A chill ran down my spine. Talking to
ghosts - weren't Jennie and I too young for that?

Without
saying another word Carla called two priests who were close to her. I sat on
Carla's sofa in disbelief as the two priests entered Carla's house and she
greeted them. I didn't know what kind of mess Jen had got me into. I didn't
know if what we were going to do was right. It felt as if my heart stopped
beating, the room started to spin and it started feel that sooner or later I'll
faint. I wanted to run away, somewhere far away, to my mom, back in her
arms...safe and secure. And it clicked me - if my mom came to know 'bout this,
she'd kill me.

All five of
us then made our way to an empty room. I held Jen's hand tight, I could feel
even she was shivering. She looked at me and nodded, trying to say that
everything will be alright. My heart beat grew faster as the priests lit a
candle in the middle of a table at the centre of the room, then they switched
off all the lights.

I couldn't
concentrate on the rules the priests declared, I only focused on my friend, me
and my dear life. All I heard was the elder priest saying that if anything goes
wrong, it may be a threat to our lives, focus. We all caught hands standing
around the table and the priest started murmuring some chants out of my understanding.

As soon as
he was done a high-pitched shriek filled the air, it sounded as if the woman
was in so much pain and despair but more than that it gave me chills all over
my body. I squeezed my eyes shut and pursed my lips as if it would help me get
over the dread. Suddenly, fast winds started blowing all around the room
swishing my hair in all directions but I was too afraid to let go of my hand to
tuck them.

I started
hearing voices of people, some were laughing out their lungs and some were
crying their hearts out. I suddenly felt alone as if I was alone in the room
and covered with eccentric grey shadows swerving all around me.

A soft
whimper left my throat as I heard a baby's giggle; seemingly, it was right behind
me somewhere. I was now crying, this was too much for me to handle and as soon
as I was about to break down and saunter, the wind came to a stop.

I felt Carla
let go of my hand and instantaneously flashed open my eyes. This time the
lights were on, one of the priest was packing his stuff up while the other one
gave a shoulder for Carla to cry on "I talked to them!" she wailed.

I gulped at
the thought of it and looked at Jen, expecting her to be frozen but instead she
stared at me and giggled "Look at your hair! Damn it looks like you went wasted
all night!"

I was too petrified
to join her and silently left Carla's apartment.
