Among all the days spent together, the moment I proposed to you stands out as one of my favorites. It had been a year since my parents kicked me out of my home, but overcoming that situation turned out to be easier than expected. Your presence by my side made everything more bearable, and the unconditional support of your family was a balm for my soul.

Those months couldn't have gone better; I was starting my life from cero with you. I left my job as a barista to focus on finding a more stable one. After all, before going to war, I had finished studying law and was ready to find a job. On your part, you continued as a delivery boy but at the same time were studying for a master's degree in cardiology since, like me, you had finished your studies, in your case, in medicine. Finding another place to live seemed impossible, but with your contacts, it ended up being much easier. We had to pay monthly, but in the end, that friend of yours helped us a lot, and thanks to him, we moved out of your mother's house. Living in your house felt like being back in my home; I felt loved and welcomed. However, moving was the best decision we could have made. In our new home, we found a space to enjoy our privacy and share even more time together. I always heard that living together is the best test of compatibility before marriage, and indeed, we confirmed that we were meant to be together. Waking up every morning and gazing into your beautiful emerald eyes and being able to kiss your red lips as much as I wanted became the best gift life could offer me.

Continuing with the story, I had planned that day to be perfect. We would go to the movies to see a film; I would take you to a food stand where we would enjoy your favorite food, and finally, we would end up at the place of our first date, the amusement park. There, amid bright lights and joyful laughter, I would ask you the only question that matters: Will you marry me? My enthusiasm for this perfect plan was evident, but the day began with an unexpected twist. I woke up to the sweet aroma of coffee floating in the air but noticed your absence by my side. -Good morning, Shad.- You entered through the door of our room with a tray of food in your arms. What was all this about? -I brought this for you; I hope you enjoy it. I know I'm not very good at cooking.- You said timidly. I was supposed to bring you breakfast, but I fell asleep, and to my surprise, you ended up doing it yourself. Don't get me wrong; I loved the breakfast and the rose next to it, but I couldn't hide my frustration. I was angry with myself for ruining that beautiful gesture you made for me. As always, I lost control over my emotions.

The day started on the wrong foot, but I was determined to change it, or at least try. As I got ready, I put on my red scarf since it would be a very important day for both of us. After a while, we hurried to leave, hoping that the rest of the day would go smoothly. Ironically, we were immediately delayed in getting to the movie. You had always been punctual, but that day you seemed determined to stop and observe every corner of the city. Unable to contain my impatience, I gently took your hand and started running. You looked confused but decided to follow my pace, ending up dragging me along. -How fun! Why don't we do it again?- You said, caught up in the excitement. You had always enjoyed running, and I understood that. -No.- I replied seriously as I bought the movie tickets, avoiding any additional distractions.

There was a perfect movie for you; it was about race cars, and what better choice than that.

-Are you sure you want to choose that?- You asked me; I was never a fan of races or cars, but the day had to be perfect for you, so I agreed. Upon entering the theater, my suspicions were confirmed; it was packed. It was understandable; we had entered late. I took a deep breath and took your hand to find our seats; I took advantage of the darkness so that no one would notice our hands together. I didn't want my anger to ruin the movie or the day itself, so I just tried to calm down. Getting to our seats wasn't easy; they were in the middle of the row, so we had to pass by many people and endure their annoyed glances. After that awkward moment, we sat down to watch what was left of the movie. You seemed excited and seemed to enjoy it, but for my part, I couldn't bear the boredom. I stared at the screen without paying much attention; I was really thinking about what we had left to do and how I would make sure everything went as planned this time. It was a very important day; I wasn't going to let any detail slip by me. I was like that for a while and unintentionally ended up falling asleep; I don't know exactly how long but I imagine it was almost until the end because when you noticed it and woke me up, no more than twenty minutes had passed before the show ended. Before you got up, I grabbed your wrist gently and whispered tensely in your ear. -You're not mad, are you?- It wasn't my intention to fall asleep; it seemed very thoughtless of me. -What? No! Not at all; I understand; races aren't for everyone. Only people with excellent taste in movies like me could understand the masterpiece we just saw.- And with a smile, you confirmed that you weren't upset; in fact, you took advantage of the situation to joke as you always did. -Excellent taste in movies, huh?. Well, we'll see how good your taste in movies is when it's my turn to choose what we watch.- I replied with a smile.
