"Ain't no way them niggas was moving parts like that last night folk. It had be at good eight people out the full shift who was doing the work for real for real 'cause when have we ever been backed up like that? And you notice how shit like this always happens when Kyle's ass is in charge. Like what in the hell do y'all be doing? Go visit some damn aliens until it's time for you clock out or something, cause y'all sure as hell ain't working."
"You can say that shit again." I spoke agreeing with DeAndre's ranting.
Today was a really stressful day at work being that we had to stay an extra two and a half hours trying to catch up on making parts for the new models of cars that were set to be released next year. I don't know what the hell night shift had going on, but in all my years of being here, we have never been backed up this bad. Me being assistant manager and De'Andre being the head manager of morning shifts, it was our responsibility to only keep up with files, make sure everyone was doing their jobs and help out if someone urgently needed it like a new hire or something, but the workload from night shift somehow poured over into being morning shifts responsibility and no one warned us or even stayed to help. Instead, we had to stay and work twice as hard even with the help from those two and half hours with day shift workers.
Me and Dre looked over the absentee list from night shift four times and everyone was present, so they couldn't say they didn't have enough workers. We couldn't look over the cameras for anyone's shift but ours, so that kept us further astray from knowing the reasoning for the lack of work put in, but me, Dre and Serenity, the day shift manager, left a note for the store manager for them to see what was going on. Then to make matters worse, I had a little car trouble today which added another fifteen minutes of stress on me. Xanurie and I had plans to hang out soon as I got off and I knew he was a bit upset at me cause when I shot him a text explaining everything, he only responded with 'okay' and he was never a dry texter.
"Well alright Dre, imma holla at you later. I just pulled in to Xanurie's so let me work my pizzazz to calm him down."
"Uh oh, you better hope he don't put you in the doghouse tonight. I know he's your little perfect angel, but those be the ones with the most crucial wraths." He said resulting in us both laughing. He wasn't lying though.
"But alright bro, I'm about to pull in myself. I'll talk to you later."
"Alright bro. Stay easy." With that, I ended the call on my Bluetooth radio, collected my belongings and made sure to lock my door as I headed upstairs to the person who always illuminated my cloudy days with his beautiful essence. Even though I knew he was probably in his feelings because of my tardiness, all of that would probably go out the window when he saw me because knowing Xanurie, he'd put his pride aside and jump into my arms before I barely made it through the door. He would light up like a kid in a candy store whenever we'd connect after not seeing each other for a good amount of time. He was the cutest thing ever.
I rung his doorbell and made a few funny faces in the ring camera as I waited a good forty seconds for him to come but I wasn't met with an answer. I rung the doorbell again and waited for a minute this time and still was face to face with his crimson colored door.
I knew he was a little bit irritated from me being late, but it wasn't that deep for him to ignore me like this.
"Okay one last time." I said to myself now using my signature knock. I waited a good thirty seconds and still wasn't met with a response. Okay now he's just being dramatic as hell.
I put my briefcase down and pulled my keys from my pocket finding his pink key decorated with red hearts and unlocked the door.
"Baaaabe, your future husband is home!" I sung out as I stepped in and closed the door behind me. I was confused as I was met with a trail of fog floating in his living room which traveled down the hallway to his bedroom that was illuminated with pink lighting. I wasn't too much tripping off of the brand new LED lights but the fog machine threw me all the way off cause what we was in here doing? Performing for his imaginary sold out world tour?
