Skin deep is the love I have for it
My skin I mean
From the lightest shades
to the darkest mahogany .
Skin is the flesh easily wounded
So tough yet so fragile
So resilient yet easily broken.
Skin deep is the love I have for it
My skin I mean
From the lightest shades
To the darkest mahogany.
Skin is protection
Not perfection
Or flawless
But it's magnificent is something
Not even science can Decipher
Like hieroglyphics
Or my autonomy.
Skin deep is the love I have for me
My skin too
Form the brightest shades
to the deepest of mahogany.
