"Creepypasta," is an internet slang word. Originally called "copypasta" it is a random body of text copied and pasted over and over again from site to site. "Creepypastas" is the scary and creepier version of those "copypastas"
The stories from the internet will or may not be frightening the reader. But, the stories are meant to frighten the readers. Or at least make a scary parody of something that wasn't scary, to begin with.
All of the creepypasta (CP) characters are somebody's OC(original character) story, that most had given up on and left astray because of how many people had ruined their character. An example would be how many kids had thought Slenderman was real and wanted to become a proxy, so, they would stab their friends about 13 times. Another example would be a kid who tried to kill one of their family members and blamed it on Laughing Jack. So, that's how they would ruin this fandom, and it is why people hate it so much now.
There are many different types of fans in each fandom. But, for the CP fans, it's obsessed to unimpressed. Mainstream will be used a few times when listing the types of fans there are; mainstream means in this fandom, its most popular or talked about characters/streams.
Just for horror: - Does not get attached to any of the characters from the stories -Just reads creepypasta to get a good scare -Might write some of their own unsettling creepypasta stories - Doesn't like anything of creepypasta that isn't the creepy stories - despise ships
Casual Fan: -gets attached to some of the characters' stories -writes a few stories -likes/makes the scary fanart -doesn't ship
The fandom: -gets attached to any of the stories -writes their own stories, makes some OCs -likes/makes scary, funny, and neutral(not scary but not cute) fanart, doesn't mind the cute fanart though -Might ship, most likely canon ships
Fangirl: -overly attached to the mainstream characters, most likely doesn't even know their stories -Makes OCs with short stories to try to be creepypasta, but might be Mary Sue's((originally in fan fiction) a type of female character who is depicted as unrealistically lacking in flaws or weaknesses.) -Loves the cute fanart -ships ships ships and ships that are Even against Canon facts
Ultimate Fangirls(Aka fandom runners)
-Obsesses over only the mainstream characters -"creepypastas are stories?" -makes OCs with little to no backstory, most likely to be Mary Sue's OCs & Loves the cute and "sexy" fanart - Ships, Ships, Ships, Ships, and ships themselves or their OC with a popular character
