Virat looked at his phone ringing, he noticed the caller ID and immediately took the call
"Is everything okay bacha?" Virat asked in a worried tone
"Bhaiya everything is okay.. Aap thik ho, you are taking care of yourself right?" asked the unknown person
"Ha bacha I am okay and wo kaisa hai"
"Virat main bhi thik hu, I am here only" another unknown person said
"Did you talk to bhai, wo thik haina.. you guys have called after almost 2 weeks, I was so worried" Virat expressed his concern
"Virat bhaiya we were okay, matches the na to schedule busy tha"
"Aur Mahi bhai he is okay, meds bhi time pe le rhe hai.. Nothing is same after you left but everyone is pretending to be okay" the 2nd unknown voice said
"Maybe they aren't pretending but really happy without me" Virat added with a fake smile
"Noone is happy bhaiya, don't overthink.. Koi bolta nhi hai but everyone needs you and I need you too 🥺"

"You know na I am there for you two always, just a call away" Virat assured and both of them smiled at how he still cares for them and everyone 🤍

Back in India,
Team was in the practice session, Mahi came there and everyone assembled around him

"Guys I have a news" Mahi took a deep breath and everyone looked at him curiously
"BCCI is contacting Virat to ask him about his availability, and it is highly possible that he will be back till the next series" He said shocking everyone
"But why is he returning Bhai, we don't need him anymore" Rohit said with a hint of bitterness
"We don't need the back-staber back in our team" Jaddu added
"Try to understand bacha, the game needs him and even if he is back he will be back 'just as a player' and not our old friend" He assured everyone and everyone left, though they were still unsure
Now only Jaddu and Mahi were there

He was so tired with all this happenings.. his form, the constant pressure from BCCI, the approaching wc, stress about the team selection

"Kamine mujhe to nhi sone deta tu" Rohit put his hand around Virat's shoulder
"Jo insaan 24 ghante mein se 18 ghante sota hi rehta hai, uske liye yhi shi hai"
Virat said with a tight lipped smile and everyone laughed at Ro's face
"Virat bhai.. Bhai" Arnav's voice brought Virat back out of his world

"Bhai BCCI ne ek mail bheja hai, and they are going to contact you soon about your return om the field"
Arnav showed Virat the mail and left, Virat looked at the mail which mentioned about team's instability without him and the upcoming WC
Virat kept the tab on the table and slumped on the couch.
"Why the hell is everything so hard, jitna I'm trying to forget thinks utna yaad aaraha hai sab. Main kaise waha wapas ja sakta hi. How can I meet my Mahi bhai's eyes, how can I look into my elder brothers eyes who think I betrayed him? Mere apne best friend Bhuvi, Jaddu, Ash don't want to see me ever.. Anushka came in the room to check on him and noticed his sitting there

"Kya hua love, why are you crying" She asked concerned wiping his tears
"Kucch nhi Nush I was thinking something. Wo mail, I mean wo BCCI ka mail.. They want me to comeback for the next series"
Anushka took a moment to process it and held his hand "Are you okay with it,Bubs"
"I don't know Anu, I want to get back on the field. Jo bhi hua, uski wajah se I can't let my country and my game suffer na?" He asked to assure himself and Anushka nodded kissing his hand to assure him
"So I think I wi..will go back" He said taking a deep breath
"But you will be there with me, right" He looked at her with teary eyes
" I am always there, my love"
There conversation was interrupted by a phone call,they both looked at the caller ID and then Virat looked at Nush, who nodded encouraging him
"Hello"
"Viral we have a news for you, we want you to comeback till the next series as we hope, your injuries are okay and we have to start the preparation for the upcoming tournaments" The BCCI chairman said seriously
"Yes sir I am ready" Virat took a moment of pause and replied
"Great then, we will make the announcement soon" Virat hangs up the call
Somewhere in India
"Virat Kohli wo to bas ek trailer tha, tere wapas aane ke bad puri horror movie banegi.. Teri koi galti nhi hai phir bhi tu bechara fas gya tha. Abhi to bhot kucch baki hai" A man took Viral's photo and set it on fire
He shaked hand with another man and of them were laughing looking at the newspaper headline
"Former Captain and Star player Virat Kohli to return back after 13 months"
