Kies pov
When we were done eating we walked around and ended up in a store called the ABC store. I was looking at the drinks and then there was a tap on my shoulder. When I turned I found Bax with the smallest pair of swing goggles and I couldn't help but bust out laughing
" Bax are those kid's goggles "
" maybe it says ages 4 and up and I'm over 4 years old "
He taped on the lens
" I think they look good they make me look very smart "
" a smart alc sure "
I laughed a little more
" I like your laugh "
He said with a smirk he took off the goggles and put them on the shelf without looking and he started to lean in and just before he could kiss me I moved away
" hey look at this "
We soon left the store and made our way back to the hotel. I felt like I could sleep on the stairs I was so exhausted when I got to my room I went straight to sleep.

Bax pov
When I got back to my room I sat by the window and I thought about how stupid it was that I tried to kiss her. I've only known her for a few days and I pull that.
The next morning I was at breakfast and I was just minding my own business looking at things to do when a napkin was thrown over my phone
" hey "
I said a little annoyed and then I saw that it was Kie
" oh sorry I didn't know it was you I thought it was some kid being funny "
"It ok "
She smiled sat down and started to pick at her food
" whatcha looking at there "
" Just some stuff to do on the island is all "
" well I want to get out on the water again today I mean look at it "
I looked and she was right it was beautiful conditions
" ok let's finish eating and then get out there alright "
" deal "
She ate her full plate and then we were off.

We were catching some nice waves when I looked over at her and her smile was slipping from her lips. It reminded me of how Vegas would lose her smile
" hey what's wrong "
I yelled to her and when she looked at me a wave crashed over us suddenly. My head was spinning with the sudden impact and then my lungs started to burn because I needed air. When I broke the surface I didn't see her and another wave hit me. When I came up I saw her board closer to shore than I was and I was watching waiting for her to come up next to it. I heard a sudden intake of breath behind me and then I turned she was holding onto my board coughing up water as the ocean spit us out. her towe rope had broken and she was a little shaken up but mostly mad that she had to get a new one. We walked into town not saying a word and got what she needed and we ended up in a shaved ice shop. We sat down outside next to our boards and watched the water as we ate
" so what was it that broke your focus out there "
She looked down at her hands and then said
" I was thinking about how fucking JJ would love it here "
" I see I was also thinking about how Vegas would love it here "
We both laughed a little and then stopped as the weight of our pasts sat on us again. The past is funny like that it always finds a way to sit with you.
