This Isn't About Kintsugi

Elusive, hidden within
Those rocky veins of Terra,
Nestled so sparsely
Is that metal, anciently loved,
Gaia's Gold.

Anxiously digging for her
Through anguish and tumult,
Pebbles embed themselves
Beneath your fingernails.

You've heard of the ways she mends
With her radiant,  molten beauty,
Somehow making all those breaks
And shatters in your porcelain soul
worthwhile...

Truth be told,
Kintsugi or not,
I don't care
Whether your perceived cracks
Are to be filled with gold
Or stay as they are-

Because I'll always be here
Whether you become
That pretty pottery
Revival
or
Whether the gold you're seeking
To bind your broken heart
Just can't be found.
