I woke up in a forest. That dream felt real, like it was actually happening. I could feel the grass touching my bare feet and the smell of the trees.

It was night and the only light present was the one belonging to the full moon.

That's when a girl approached me and grabbed both my hands. That girl was always in my dreams but it was hard to see her face due to the darkness of the night. But I felt like I have met her before.

It might sound crazy to other people, but
I always felt drawn to that mystery woman. Mostly because she reminded me of a special someone.

Then, out of nowhere, the scenario changed. I was now in a different part of the forest with only one tree in front of me. As I stood in the middle of a crowd that I didn't realized was there, I saw the mystery girl standing in front of the crowd with a rope tied around her neck while the other end of the rope was over a branch on the tree.

The woman was quiet but it was easy to notice the pain and desperation in her eyes. I started to feel that I was loosing the control in my body, because I walked towards the girl, and placed my hands softly on the woman's face.

"Please..." the woman begged with tears streaming down her face.

Then, with a swift and sudden movement, a man pushed the rope and my hands stopped feeling her face.

3rd person pov

Lorraine Goode woke up in the middle of the night, breathing heavily and even though it was almost winter, she was sweating. She had just woken up after a terrifying nightmare.

For the past months, she has been haunted at night with horrific nightmares. Most of the nightmares were revolving around the town next to the one she lived and their past killers. Then she started dreaming with Sarah Fier. She was famously known for being accused of witchcraft three centuries before and there were multiple stories surrounding her that she was the cause of everything bad that has been happening to Shadyside.

Sunnyvale and Shadyside were two neighbour small towns in Ohio that couldn't be more different of each other. Sunnyvale was the dream place, where everyone would definitely want to live and raise a family.

Shadyside was the exact opposite. Their economic situation wasn't good and people there had to work twice as harder than any sunnyvaler just to have some dinner. It was also a dangerous place to live. Shadyside had a bloody past. People only lived there because they couldn't afford living somewhere also.

Most people believed that Shadyside was cursed.

Lorraine was from Sunnyvale. Her family was well-known in the town. Her father was the sheriff and her uncle was their mayor so there was a lot of pressure for all them to succeed.

Lorraine believed that Shadyside was cursed. She was there before and she always felt a weird energy everytime she set foot on that town. That didn't meant that she felt like she was superior to them, which seemed to be a common trait in every sunnyvaler. The rivalry between both towns have been lasting since way before Lorraine was born. Probably since the foundation of both towns.

She looked at the clock in her room and groaned when she saw that it was only 3 am. She decided to go to the kitchen and get something to eat before trying to go sleep again.

It was silent in the kitchen, except for the sound of drops of water falling from the faucet. She took a glass and a jug of water to fill it.

"What are you doing awake?" Lorraine spilled the water all over the kitchen counter.

"Hey, dad. How long have you been here?" She asked, trying to play cool.

Nick Goode had a look in his eyes that reminded the same one that he always had when he was about to give bad news. "There was a massacre in the Shadyside mall." He told her, with a cold look in her eyes.

Even though Lorraine was aware of the town's bloody past, that was still shocking to hear. She filled the glass of water and gave it to her dad, while he quickly explained what happened. A teenage boy who worked there killed most of the employees who were doing their night shifts and Lorraine's dad Nick Goode actually witnessed the last murder before pulling the trigger, ending his life.

After he was done, Lorraine hugged him. "That must've been horrible, but you did the right thing.

He smiled at her. "I know, honey, I know."

"Do you need anything right now?"

"All I need is to go to sleep before I have to deal with the press asking me about what happened tomorrow morning." He kissed his daughter's forehead. "You should also go to sleep."

Lorraine walked into her room and layed on the bed, just looking at the ceiling.

There was a lot of crime in Shadyside, but there hasn't been a massacre in the past years. Those were her last thoughts before she finally fell asleep.
