That one day

THAT ONE DAY…

That one day, you lost that charm,

Finally it was my ‘move on’ alarm.

Our time passes by in silence,

I just don’t want you near any violence.

I don’t want you to regret it,

We keep ending the conversation with a forget it.

I look down at my hands,

You look at your bands.

You’re wearing the lucky charm I gave you,

It was the day when I forgave you.

I can’t help but think of the past few days,

‘He’s changed’ someone says.

‘Another fight’ I hear the roars of the crowd,

As I take another step it gets loud.

I shake off the thoughts coming in my mind,

After everything people call me blind.

I can’t open my eyes even to peak,

I’m choosing the correct words before I speak.

That one day you lost your charm,

Everything we had stinking worse than a farm.

‘Say something’ you whisper in my ear,

I’m scared to say anything because I have a fear.

A fear of losing you,

As long as you’re okay I don’t care what you do.

‘I can’t take it anymore’ I closed my now open eyes shut,

You didn’t say anything but a ‘but’.

A tear trickled down my cheek,

You opened an eye to peak.

‘I’m sorry’ you say holding my hand tight,

I say, ‘You should have thought that before the fight’.

With hurt written all over your face,

You pull me into your embrace.

‘I don’t want you to leave me’ you say your voice shaking,

Your expressions, I know you can’t be faking.

‘You leave me no choice’ I try to keep my voice cold,

It came out too bold.

That one day you lost your charm,

Your grip was loose around my forearm.

You let go off me,

All of a sudden too focused on a bumble bee.

‘Listen to me’ you lift up my chin,

I look away at a bin.

I try to walk away,

But you swing me back in a sway.

I knees become weak,

I look away because I’m too meek.

You start pulling me close,

I know I after I end it, it will be so many tissues to dispose.

Your lips move in sync with mine,

I can’t move away and draw the line.

You deepen the kiss by pulling me close,

I always want to be the option you chose.

‘Look at me’ you say parting away,

I obey because I don’t want you to walk away.

You sigh and spoke, ‘I can never exactly pour my heart out’,

I looked as you spoke again, ‘You’re the only thing I care about’.

That one day you lost your charm,

Continuing it would have been a harm.

You pulled me close for a hug,

Your smile a little smug.

‘I-‘ I broke down with tears trickling down,

You looked at me with a frown,

I had no option but to look back into your eyes brown.

‘Please’ your eyes pleading with guilt,

The trust is crushed that was once built.

Your hands shaking as you remove something covering my face, my hair,

I looked up at you and melted in your stare.

You place a soft kiss,

The thing that you miss.

That’s all it took,

We were on the hook.

That one dance,

It means more to me than France.

That one day,

We lost out charm,

It wasn’t really easy to let go the one thing beside me,

Your arm.
