⚠️Small trigger warning, this chapter mentions divorce and acts of violence. Please proceed with caution my lovelies⚠️

Alastor POV

I hadn't been able to find Y/N after the...incident this morning. I had taken a shower, gotten clothed, and even had my morning coffee. While I drank it, I noticed Husker hadn't been around either. I had seen Angel Dust walk by a few times, ruling out the option of those two being together. I hadn't gone near Charlie or Vaggie, though they also seemed to be keeping their distance.

I decided I would check her room to see if she was there, but as I got off of the elevator I heard her voice in the opposite direction of the hall. Walking towards the direction of her voice, it was now clear that she was arguing with someone. Though it didn't take long for me to figure out who. "You need to stop dad! I'm not a little girl anymore! I died at 28, I've been in hell for at least 39 years! I'm not a child!"

"Don't raise your voice at me Y/N! You may be an adult but I am still your father! All I'm trying to do is protect you from that monster!" Her father shouted back. 'Well, that was a bit harsh.'

"If you think he was so bad then why give him your blessing for us to start dating?! He told me himself that he asked you and you said it was fine! But the second we actually get together, you're suddenly going back on your word! If you didn't want us to be together then you should have said no!" I thought it was best not to intrude on their conversation, I simply summoned my staff and leaned against the wall as I listened in. Though what she had said was entirely true. If he didn't want me to be with his daughter, he should have said so. I may own his soul, but forcing him to allow me to date his daughter would do nothing for me down the line. "He knows how much you care for me! That's the whole reason he even asked you if it was okay! He might own your soul, but he would never force you to agree to something like that!" As if she read my mind, her words were similar to what I said to myself.

Her voice was angry and upset, of course that was to be expected. But it had a rough tone to it, unlike how sweet she would normally sound. Everyone sounds a bit different when they yell in anger, but we had all heard that before when they fought before. This however, this was far different. I could hear the snarl in her voice, between sentences her breathing was rough. Though it sounds silly, she almost reminded me of an angry tiger. Though a sweet kitten like herself could never seem like something so ferocious.

"Well maybe I regret giving him the okay! In fact I want the two of you separated! Broken up! You aren't allowed to date a guy like him Y/N! In fact, you aren't allowed to date anyone down here, period!"

"And why should I listen to you?!"

"So you would rather date that-that radio-voiced jackass than listen to your own father!? Need I remind you Y/N, that he owns my soul!"

"Maybe if you would have thought about something other than gambling, keeping those pathetic souls, and protecting your stupid title, that wouldn't be the case! But just like always, you only thought about yourself! I can't believe I took you side when you and mom got a divor-" her words were interrupted by the sound of a harsh smack. It immediately caught my attention, bolting to the door and kicking it in with all my strength. I almost thought my eyes were playing tricks on me from what I saw standing before me.

Y/N didn't look as she normally appeared. Her skin was no longer the texture of skin, instead a soft looking fur. The feathers of her wings were puffed out from anger and her e/c eyes glowed. Though I watched as that form slowly slipped into the she showed the public.

Husker's hand was still in the air, Y/N's face forced to the side. Her body was frozen for a moment before her sniffle broke the silence in the room. After that, her shoulders shrugged and her fists clenched so hard I watched blood drop to the floor. Husker's eyes were wide, his eyes taking turns looking at his hand and his daughter. "Y/N.. I-"

"Save it." She spoke coldly through her sobs, seeing her like this broke my heart and made me furious. Though of course that anger was directed towards her father. I walked forward, taking her into my arms to try and comfort her. I looked down at her face, her cheek was glowing red and three small claw marks bled. I rubbed her back in an attempt to sooth her as she cried into my chest.

Apparently the sound of me kicking the door in was louder than I thought. It had caught the attention of everyone. Niffty looked surprised and sightly confused. Charlie looked angry and disappointed. Vaggie looked as though she could kill him. Sir Pentious was mostly confused. And Angel stood there, shocked, upset, and disappointed. "Charlie," I spoke, her attention shifting to me. "I'll be taking a few days off to go back home. Y/N will be accompanying me. I hope you understand." She nodded quietly in response. "As for him," I looked to Husker who was now looking at the floor, "don't hurt him. As much as I would like to do so myself, he is still her father. I do not wish to bring her more pain. Let him stay here and continue to work, take care of him. But that does not mean you must treat him respectfully." I looked back at Charlie, all she did was nod in response again.

I lifted Y/N into my arms and carried her bridal style to her room, leaving the others behind. I used magic to open the door and once walking inside I closed it with the back of my foot. Putting her on her bed, I began to pack up some of her clothes, jewelry/accessories, shoes, and her makeup. Though she didn't need it, it made her feel pretty and anything she wanted she got. I walked into her bathroom and grabbed some disinfectant and a bandage. Sitting myself in between her legs I looked up at her blank expression, tears still flowing down her cheeks. "This is going to sting a bit, my dear. I apologize." I gently touched the pad with disinfectant on it to the scratches on her cheek, though she didn't react. I placed the bandage over it and got up, putting away the disinfectant.

When I stepped back into the room, instead of finding her on the bed, she was right in front of the door holding her packed bags. I have her a sad smile and took them from her, extending my elbow out to her. She took it and leaned her head against my shoulder. She didn't speak a single word, but I was able to tell she wanted to be anywhere but here at the moment.

I shifted the two of us to a cottage-like house, a replica of one I owned while alive. It was spacious, but not huge. It was the time of the great depression after all, money was tight at the time and while being a radio host paid well, I couldn't afford a mansion. I had made a few adjustments while in hell, with the hep of a little magic, but the antlers of deer I had shot along with some bones from a few victims had been turned into decor. Perhaps if Y/N never wanted to return to the hotel, she would enjoy living here with me.

I set her luggage down in the living room and swept her into my arms again. Walking to the couch and sitting on the soft cushion, I had her laid down, her head resting in my lap. Petting her head and humming a tune to comfort her, an action my mother would do to me in the past.  Her eyes fluttered closed as she melted into the comfort of my touch. We would have to discuss this when she woke up, but for now it was better for her to rest.
