CHAPTER 19

"He is called Boss Shu and is located in Xinjiang. He's involved in modern slavery, human trafficking, and god knows what."

He giggled and accepted the paper. "I heard about a man named Shu in Xinjiang, and for sure he's just a local boss. You know? Those typical wannabees, bossing around people."

Napalabi ako. "I don't know. I don't associate myself with those kinds of people."

Tumawa siya. "Then why do you want me to find them if not?"

He might misunderstand if I'm going to say that it's for Eiji.

"So it's for the young guy with you earlier." Pagdedeklara niya na bahagya ko pang kinanginig.

It's still scary how he knows everything and can easily read people's minds. Yet he never once told me anything about what happened to him in America or why he's so attached to Mina.

"Don't get me wrong; I just pity him. That's why I'm making this request. And it's not like I'm not going to pay you for this?" Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.

Tumaas ang sulok ng labi niya. "Why are you being defensive? Pwede ka namang mag-explain na lang."

"Do I have to?"

"Of course! Gusto mo bang isipin kong may iba ka nang mahal, no longer that asshole Kyn?"

"Oh my gosh, shut up, please!" Kinilabutan ko sa sinabi niya. "Eiji is just my servant, and I'm going to let him go once Kyn marries me. Wala pa akong sinabi na hindi ko tinutupad."

"Fair enough." His eyes became curious. "But then again, why are you going so far for that servant of yours?"

"Because he satisfies me, that's all." Taas noo kong tugon. "So far, wala siyang ginawa na labag sa kagustuhan ko, and I like his submission. He impresses me, and I find him interesting. He's good at pleasing-"

"You can now stop," he said with a fake smile. "I don't want to hear any further."

"Well, you keep on asking for it."

"Then, I'll work on your request and get a result as soon as possible. Tell me what I should do once I find them. "

Sandali akong nag-isip. "Wala pa akong desisyon, dahil masyado kang nagmamadaling pumunta rito, ni hindi ko pa nga natanong si Eiji tungkol sa bagay na 'to. I'll just call you once I settle the matter."

"Oh? So you're also asking for his permission, huh?"

"Why not? Sa kaniya nagkasala ang mga taong 'yon."

"Then what if he tells you to let them go instead?"

Sandali akong natigilan. I think he's not a good enough person to make them repeat the same things all over again to different people.

"But if that happens, I'll tell you to personally kill them instead." Walang kurap kong tugon.

Well, I'm not a good person either. Those who are deserving to die, just die! Life is cruel enough; suffering others makes life a living hell.
