I knew Saul knew, that I wasn't really at the specialists' camp to see Sky's training.
I watched him coming to the pavilion where Sky and Riven were fighting.
And in the process, he was talking to the freshmen about some tips on how to fight better.
When he arrived in front of me he raised his eyes to the sky and climbed the stairs to better watch the fight of Sky and Riven.
«Sky works on the legs»
I knew Sky was trying hard to focus on training, even though Saul was more concerned.
Sigh then when Riven landed Sky.
«Well done Riven»
Saul came down the stairs and beckoned me to follow him.
«Shall we talk about it?»
«Are you literally walking leaning on a rod, do you need to talk about it?»
He stopped and turned to look me in the eye.
«You should worry about something else, for example your lesson, which you will have soon»
«I had proposed to take part in the research of burning, but you practically forced me not to go; so I prefer to control you, than to prepare a history lesson, on the origins of magic»
Saul sighed and then smiled at me.
«You know it breaks my heart to look at you so, and it's been a week; about it's time to change the bandages»
I took their faces in my hands and kissed their foreheads.
«All right let's go»
I followed him to the infirmary, where Ben treated him.
«you should go and talk to the girls»
«why?»
I continued to caress Saul's hand, while Ben was looking for new bandages.
«to know how they are, after the attack of the burning»
Sigh, avoiding his gaze.
If he gave in to mine, I gave in to his.
But he was right after all.
«All right, I'll talk to them at lunchtime, they'll be in the room. See you later, I have class now»
Saul smiled at me and I went out to join the students, who were waiting in class.
I took a big breath and then I opened the door, and I went into class.

I took a big breath and then I opened the door, and I went into class.
I reached my desk and turned to my students.
«Good morning, today we will face the origins of magic.»
I strained a smile and turned on the projector for images, which I would show them.
The literary archetype of the witch has ancient origins, millennial, still present in Western culture, survived the passage of time more or less intact. It is linked to the same concept of magic, starting with one of the most famous works of the ancient world: the Odyssey.
In the Odyssey of Homer appears the one who could represent the origin of the myth, specialist in supernatural art, expert in filters, rituals and metamorphoses: or Circe, the so-called "sorceress" Circe.
We all know the story. Queen of a remote island, who lives surrounded by beasts that once were men, and that she herself transmuted through enchantment. Circe encounters the wandering Odysseus, who has come to the island with his ship and his crew, composed of those men who one after the other are transformed into beasts after being lured by the same owner of the island. Circe offers them a lavish banquet where, however, he has inserted a pharmakon, that is, the Greek word meaning "remedy" and, at the same time, "poison": the term from which our drug derives. With pharmakon the ancients designated medicinal plants, drugs, tinctures and those similar procedures to the preparation of magic potions, enchanted filters and rituals, the same as those used by Circe.

A cruel woman who curses travelers who have come to her island. The sailors of Ulysses fall into the trap: they accept the false hospitality and quench their thirst with Ciceone, a drink made of cheese, barley flour, honey, Pramno wine... and poison. After administering this concoction, Circe makes use of her rhabdos to complete the bestial transformation. Only after touching the unfortunate with her magic rod, she is able to perform the miracle, which does not happen with Odysseus, because the hero is protected by the advice of the god Hermes and the use of a good drug, which neutralizes the enchantment of Circe.
Circe, therefore, would seem to embody the archetype of the ancestral witch, the origin from which it all began. She prepares potions, uses a wand, performs divinations and prophecies, and plays a role halfway between the antagonist and the hero support character, as will happen in the later stages of the encounter between her and Odysseus. Everything matches, if not for an important aspect, fundamental in defining the magical nature of Circe.
She, in fact, is not a sorceress, contrary to what is often called, sorceress Circe, but a goddess. A divine creature, which falls within the sphere of Greek religion, where magic is not contemplated. The very term "magic" is anachronistic»
I knew that the first part of the lessons was always the most boring, I was aware of that.
«I know that the initial part may seem very boring, but it is essential to get to the origins of every element that reflects you»
