The Darkness

As night falls the hollow grows cold and bleak

As the moon rises the shadows grow dark and evil

And as the monsters emerge from the darkness,

The darkness brings death of all good

And as the wolf howls the hunter makes it rain,

                                Rain the arrows of death

As the light fades we give in to the darkness,

The darkness of the darkest night

When all light is gone so is all the joy of day

                                    No more laughing

                                       Just blood

                         No more children laughing

                        Just monsters on the prowl

                       No more hugs and kisses

                                   Just death

                  Darkness overruns the world

And all the light, once there, has gone away

Only pain is here and pain is to stay

But when the lights are switched back on

                  And night fades away

The darkness retreats like an old enemy

And fades into lost memory until night, once again,

                   Consumes the light
