The Jester and the Prince

3 1 1

The sun's radiance slowly dims,

it makes way for you and all that you are.

Your gaze fills my soul to the brim,

and your warmth with it, my only dark star.

Like the horizon dances with waves,

your blazing soul does also so with mine.

Oh, but to count every day,

and to pour my heart into every line.

I'm only that of a court fool.

To have your ears turn to my sonnet!

To hear your praise, latria mou!

Your strong chest, oh, to lay upon it!

Yet, by your side, my Prince,

I'm content to stay forevermore hence.
