Chapter 13

"what is he doing?" Eggman asked from his watchtower

monitors and screens surrounding him

showing the pictures of each subject's rooms of terror and inhabitants in stages of weakness or fighting off their nightmares

but the tv numbered 4 showed nothing

a deselet minamalistic room

a toilet and bed frame

and a foam mattress pressed against the corner

a blind spot in which the vile man couldn't see what was happening within

"Don't worry boss, we'll see what he's up to" cubot shrieked as he he seemed to be just as curious as his creator

...

"umm, Mr chameleon?" cubot asked as he entered the room, followed by his own troupe of badnick enforcers

and with a shakey robotic hand, he pulled the mattress away

revealing

a very bashed-up-looking collar

"what the" Cubot asked in confusion as he held it for all to see

"gah! you idiots!" Eggman yelled as he slammed down a button

closing the door to the cell

but he knew it was too late

...

espio ran as fast as possible from his prison

his neck still hurting from hitting the collar

but at this point what didn't hurt

all he had to do was get out

if he got out he could find help for the others

he could-

but his running halted as he saw where he was brought too

another circular room

6 doors

one that had to be an exit

Not that he got far

rushing to one he tried to struggle it open

but it wouldn't budge

doing his best to keep his panic down as he tried using the stone to bash it open he almost missed the movement of another figure entering the room

not by either door

but trap door from underneath

eggman's presence suffocating the room

but the chameleon had to keep calm and concentrate, or he'd leave himself visible and vulnerable

"I know you're in here, it's the only place you can be from where your cell leads" Eggman began, speaking to the open air as he began walking around the room

"how you destroyed your restraint I am so eager to hear, and even getting so far to escape I have to applaud, I was worrying I broke you too fast" he continued, drafting his hand along the walls

the chameleon climbing as high as possible

but the man was so large that his head was just a foot away from the ceiling, there was so much he could avoid

"but what is your plan now? Eggman pondered

"you're just as trapped as before, this room is on complete lockdown and you have zero idea of where you are" the man crackled at the idiocy of the ninja

the man turned his back to him unknowingly

"but I suppose it's the effort that counts" he sighed

all he had to do was hit the correct nerve with his weapon and he could knock him out!

"but as amusing as this is, I do have errands to run, so why don't you reveal yourself and you won't be punished too harshly" Eggman offered

and with a calculated launch, espio launched at him

but as he went close the image of Eggman shifted

(hologram?!)

but the sudden grip on his hand told him differently

"there you are" the man grinned greedily

shocking the chameleon so much he decloaked involuntary

"How?" The ninja questioned in befuddlement

only for him to be raised higher

stretching it to dislocating

making espio scream in pain, dropping his "weapon"

"oho, seems you have something you weren't meant to, we'll have to do something about those pickpocket hands" Eggman noted outload as he caught the stone in the air

espio hit the man's arm in a desperate attempt to be released

only for him to raise it even higher, resulting in further screaming and pain

"that'll do" the man stated maliciously, watching in glee from seeing his victim in agony

dropping him

and not giving a single break to him as he forced the arms around his back with cuffs, the same restraint as his previous collar

"I'll be merciful however, and not punish you too harshly, I've clearly rushed into breaking your mind" Eggman whispered, twisting his arm further

"y'youre not-" Espio tried before a mist entered the room

instantly making breathing harder and the world dizzying

"I think that will be enough thinking for a while" Eggman's voice declared

but it was off
