Standing amidst the Mumbai Indians team, I took a deep breath to steady my nerves. This was it – my moment to introduce myself as their new magazine writer.

As I scanned the faces of the players, my eyes landed on Ishan, my childhood friend and neighbor. But to my disappointment, he didn't seem to react to my presence.

"Hi everyone, I'm Meenakshi Jha, your new magazine writer," I announced, trying to project confidence despite the butterflies fluttering in my stomach. "I'm really excited to be here and to tell your stories to the world."

Rohit Sharma, the former captain, offered me a warm smile of welcome. "Welcome aboard, Meenakshi. We're glad to have you as part of the team," he said, his voice filled with genuine warmth.

Hardik Pandya, the new captain, nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we're looking forward to working with you," he added, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

Surya Kumar Yadav, affectionately known as Sky, flashed me a thumbs-up. "Can't wait to see what you come up with, Meenakshi," he said, his voice brimming with excitement.

Jasprit Bumrah, ever the silent type, simply nodded in acknowledgment, his focus already shifting back to the game ahead.

But Ishan remained strangely silent, his expression unreadable. Was he avoiding me, or was I just imagining things?

As I wrestled with my thoughts, a small part of me couldn't help but wonder if our childhood friendship still held any significance to him.

But amidst the excitement of joining the Mumbai Indians team, there was little room for dwelling on the past. With a determined smile, I resolved to focus on the task at hand and make the most of this opportunity to tell the stories of these cricketing legends to the world.

Taking a seat in front of Rohit Sharma, I couldn't help but notice a slight nervousness in his demeanor. His typically confident aura seemed to falter, and I couldn't blame him – after all, interviews weren't everyone's cup of tea.
