Toji Pov

After an annoyingly long and shaky boat road I finally made it to the destination, Dolle harbour. I looked around at all the people who looks like your typical "tough guys" with their gear and belongings

Toji: 'these are who I'm competing with? I wanted a challenge...' I thought to myself while leaving the harbour with my hands resting in my pockets as I walked pass a map with three people looking at it

Young boy: he turned around and saw Toji before calling out 'Hey! You there, are you headed to the cedar tree, too?" Toji looked down at him with a cold glare

Toji: "Why would I be going to a tree?" I faced the three people, the boy with a green outfit, a blonde one and a old looking guy in a suit

Young boy: "Sorry, but we're going to try out for the Hunter exam. The captain told me to head to a Cedar tree, but the notice said the exams in Zaban city. I just wanted to know so we weren't going the wrong way." He smiles and rubs the back of his head

Toji: "Huh. Well, I don't know about a Cedar tree. The names, Toji, I'm trying out to be a hunter too, kid." I smirk slightly "You got some guts to be doing this at your age, must say, I'm jealous."

Young boy: he chuckles "Thanks! I'm Gon." Gestures to blondey "That's Kurapika" looks at the guy in a suit "And this is Leorio!" Looks back at Toji with a smile "We're all going to the Hunter exam!"

Toji: "Well, good luck." I turned and walked

Gon: "You too!" He smiled "He was nice."

Leorio: "Hey! You didn't even help us!" He said angrily while shaking his fist at Toji who kept going up the road toward the cedar tree they spoke about

Toji: sighs 'Talk about an annoying walk.' I jumped onto a building using the surfaces to jump off and pick up speed. Not long after I came to a long open dirt road and made my way through it to find an abandoned town, apart from the hidden people "You gonna test me, or what?" Suddenly the blocked pathway opened and people standing around an old lady on a platform

Old lady: "An observant one. Very well, you will be asked one question, get it wrong and you are disqualified from this years Hunter exam. You have five seconds to answer. Prepare for your question." She has an expressionless look on her face

Toji: "Questions? Not a fan, but go ahead." I kept my hand in my pocket as one of the masked people put a podium in front of me

Old Lady: "Now, your question. Your mother and your father are being held at gun point, you are asked to choose which lives and which dies." Puts up two fingers "one for your mother. 2 for your father."

Toji: 'Tch, these are the questions? Any idiot would probably answered with their preferred counterpart, but, lucky for me, I don't really care." Crosses his arms and closed his eyes

Old lady: "5..." silence "4..." silence "3..." silence "2..." no answer "1..."

Toji: I stared the old woman it the eye "Well?"

Old lady: "I see...you are quite sharp, young man." She laughs softly before getting up and walking towards a pair of doors as the masked people open it "This path will lead you to the Cedar tree, there's a married couple who lives there, they will show you the way-..." Toji walked pass her

Toji: "Thanks." The old lady stares at him, sweating profusely for some reason

Old lady: 'This feeling...pure dread...' they watch Toji walking down the dark tunnel a black shroud hanging over him before the worm-like spirit turned its head to look at the old lady as it gurgled but all they could see was the boys back 'That boy...he can't be normal...'

Toji: 'Time go, Beelzebub.' I crouched slightly before kicking off on the ground moving quickly, each step pushing me more toward the tree at a quick pace

Timeskip—nighttime
Forest

I was standing over two strange human fox creatures while holding inverter spear in my right height and soul splitter over my shoulder, the trees around were cut down and the monsters seemed terrified

Toji: "I had a feeling the two of you were different. One of you sounded like a woman, so tell me, are you examiners?" I pushed the blades back into Beelzebub's mouth as it gurgled, but they couldn't see it

Male Kiriko: "You could tell...?" Their eyes widened as they watched the young mans weapons disappear before he crouched down to them

Female Kiriko: "We were part of the test for the hunters to capture and rescue those people, but it's all rouse!" She said nervously with her claws up but Toji just gave an expressionless stare

Toji: "I guessed that. So did I win?" Sighs the purple haired girl from earlier came running with the blue haired man

Blue haired: "Well done." He chuckled as the two Kiriko jumped behind them "You knew it was all an act, didn't you?"

Purple haired girl: "You even realised that our parents were actually two different Kiriko." Giggles "You're quite observant, and the way you calculate your actions with such precision."

Toji: "Cut to the chase. Pass or no?" I put my hands in my pockets

Male Kiriko: "Ah, you're quite the impatient one, but being a hunter doesn't always require you to be patient. Well then, since you proved that you could easily pick up on a trick and are capable or defusing a situation easily, you are truly worthy of taking this exam. So, you pass."

Toji: smirks "This is pretty easy. Anyway, which way do I go now?" I look at the kiriko and the two children as they laughed

Male Kiriko: "Oh, no need. You don't need to walk any longer! My wife and son will take you straight to the exam." He laughs and they all smile while Toji gives them a slightly confused look

Female Kiriko: she laughs "You don't seem very keen on the idea." She spread her arms as they now were in the form of wings before she took off and grabbed Toji by his shoulders as the blue haired man changed form and flew as well

Toji: "Huh?" I wasn't really bothered by this, more confused as to why I couldn't just get directions, I just let out a sigh in defeat
