"Christene, you better come down here right now!" shrieked Mom.

I dashed into the kitchen to see Mom's annoyed face.

Christene looked around, trying to find a way out of the situation.

"Not my fault that you told me to try and make dinner,"

she muttered under her breath, shrugging her shoulders.

Her mom groaned and decided to ground her for a week, with no screen time.

Christene rolled her eyes at the punishment and went back upstairs to her messy room.

Despite her mom's expectations of a perfect family,

Christene was the complete opposite of her mother, from her hair to her personality.

While her mom was a clean freak who loved ballet,

Christene was a free spirit who loved street dancing and lived in a messy room.

I entered my room to find chaos like it always is.

I landed on my bunk to wrap myself like a human burrito with my sheets.

Peeking through to see my calendar on the bunk,

It was bursting with sticky notes and stickers of important dates and activities my mom forced me to do.

So with nothing to do,

I wiggled over to that side of the bunk and opened it.

Turns out tomorrow is Saint Patrick's Day.

It was decorated with a kelly green four-leaf clover and flaxen coloured gold coin stickers.

''Probably mom's doing."I thought.

"Well, better start cleaning or I will be grounded for a month instead."

After what felt like forever my dumpster room was flawless,

even my bunk was dressed and looked a hundred percent."

Chris dear, will you clean the attic,

'' that damn thing hasn't been cleaned in years."Mom requested.

That is one thing we agree about.

The attic hasn't been clean ever since I was born, aka 12 years!

"I wonder what is in there?"

Still wondering, I went to the hall where the attic door was and pulled down the stairs.

An unimaginable amount of dust fell on me.

Coughing I stumbled back a little,

"Never seen this much dust in my life!" I whispered to myself.

Half blindingly, I climbed the stairs with my cleaning supplies,

"Boom!"

The trap door under me went as I closed it.

As she put on her old cleaning mask and headlight to see through the darkness.
