Since birth, Charlotte Jones had a house but never a home. The girls mother took off the second she was born, and never having a sibling, Charlotte was all alone with her father.
Her dad, Will Jones, was not the definition of a good man. He abused her constantly, finding any excuse to blame his problems on her, leaving the girl traumatised and scared.
She grew tough skin, putting on a cold mask to hide the fact she is scared of him. Instead, she will do whatever he says, being his own personal shadow, barely living her own life.
When Will Jones turns up dead, Charlotte is forced to figure things out for herself and learn how to survive without him. Will she be able to do it?
