The room was bathed in a soft, golden glow, the gentle flicker of candlelight casting dancing shadows across the worn wooden floor. Soren lay sprawled upon a makeshift cot, his breaths coming in shallow gasps as he struggled to stay conscious.

Morana paced back and forth, her face drawn with worry as she watched over him with a fierce intensity. "He's getting worse," she muttered, her voice tinged with fear. "We need to do something."

Koa clenched his fists in frustration, his brow furrowed with concern as he racked his brain for a solution. "There's got to be something we can do," he muttered, his voice tight with tension.

Specter hovered nearby, his youthful face etched with a mixture of fear and determination. "We can't just sit here and do nothing," he insisted, his voice trembling slightly.Just then, the door creaked open, revealing the shadowy figure from earlier standing in the doorway.

"I may have a solution," he said, his voice gruff but not unkind. He stepped further into the room, his gaze flickering over Soren's prone form with a practiced eye. "I know someone who can help," he continued, his tone leaving no room for argument. "But it won't be easy."

Morana's eyes narrowed in suspicion, her hand drifting unconsciously towards her weapon. "What's the catch?" she demanded, her voice sharp with distrust. The figure's lips curled into a grim smile.

"Let's just say, you'll owe me a favor," he replied cryptically, his gaze unwavering.

With a reluctant nod, Morana reluctantly agreed to the terms, her mind already racing with possibilities. They had come too far to turn back now, to let their mission end in failure.

As they set out once more into the night, Soren's breaths came in shallow gasps, each step a herculean effort against the encroaching darkness. But even as the world blurred around him, he clung to the flickering hope that burned within him, a beacon of light in the abyss. For as long as he drew breath, he vowed to fight on, to stand against the shadows that threatened to consume them until his last dying breath. And with his companions by his side, he knew that they would find a way to emerge victorious, no matter the cost.
