Never before had someone challenged Simon so. He had quite the ego, and anyone could tell. That's why you made it your personal mission to take him down a peg. He thought of you as just some frivolous servant in his father's home, bound to serve the rest of your life in an empty, dusty palace. He never thought much of the less fortunate, only ever focusing on himself and what he wanted. So, you started speaking out of turn, questioning his actions and the way he treated his staff. He was frustrated, but it did make him see things a bit differently. He started to admire your bluntness, your honesty. No one was ever honest with him because he was the Duke. It was refreshing for someone to treat him like an asshole, someone he was.
