Lollipop

My favorite candy is lollipops,
Everyone may not agree,
Some find them too sweet or sticky.

To eat a lollipop,
We need to unwrap the wrapping,
Some people may complain that its too tight,
But it just needs time.

The lollipop gets licked slowly,
One lick by one lick,
The more it gets licked,
The less there is of it.

Once we get to the end,
The lollipop becomes noticeably smaller,
At this point,
Some people would just crush the whole thing.

The only thing left for the lollipop is its stick,
The only thing thats the proof of its existence,
But all we do is just throw it away,
As if we never met it.

I am a lollipop,
I try to please everyone,
But sometimes I try too much,
Then I'm either too sweet for them
or too sticky to them.

I am a lollipop,
I wrap myself up tightly,
To protect myself,
But with patience; You can unwrap me.

I am a lollipop,
I let others take advantage of me,
I am slowly losing pieces of myself,
I try to please them the best I can.

I am a lollipop,
Once I have nothing left to give,
They will throw me away,
Like I was nothing to them.

I am a stick,
A ugly, useless stick,
Something that was once sweet,
Has now turned into a ordinary stick,
A stick you can find anywhere,
A stick that was discarded after it served its purpose.
