Unexpected Love

Chapter 2

When (Y/N) heard the man speak, she was confused. Did he mean what he said? Could he get her out of here? Did that mean there was a world beyond this lab? Despite any hope she had, the little girl remained cautious, she didn't know who this was. Her eyes didn't leave him, as if she was waiting for him to make a move. Seeing this, he spoke again.

"I know you're probably scared, but I'm here to help" he told her, kneeling down to her height. (Y/N) wasn't sure why, but when he introduced himself, she felt a little less scared. After all, the men in the lab coats had never bothered to talk directly to her, let alone tell her their names. She thought for a moment before making up her mind.

"Do you mean it?" She asked, her voice hoarse from lack of use.

"Are you really gonna get me out of here?" She continued, feeling a tiny bit of hope. The man nodded, holding his hand out for the little girl. Though she was hesitant at first, (Y/N) took it. It was different from when one of the men in white would grab her by the wrist, the stranger's grip was soft and he didn't drag her down the hallway with no regard. Instead, he simply led her through the hallway, stopping to pick up the unconscious man on the way. (Y/N) didn't speak, she simply walked alongside the stranger. Eventually, they made it to a large door, one she hadn't seen before. (Y/N) watched quietly as the door was opened, revealing a large stair case that went upwards. The man began walking forward and the little girl tried to follow. However, as she did so, she filtered, almost falling to the ground. The hero quickly took action, catching her before she could hit the floor.

"Do you mind if I carry you?" The hero asked, the little girl nodded, not saying anything as her body felt weak. The man took her into his arms and continued to ascend the stairs leading to who knows where. It wasn't long before they reached the top, (Y/N) spotting another door. That to was pushed open, revealing a blinding light that caused the little girl to close her eyes as she was finally met with the outside world.

(Y/N) now found herself in a room that had much more color than she was used to. She was seated in front of a large table as two men sat across from each her. She was unsure of the situation, though the little girl felt comfort having the man who had saved her there. The two of them talked to each other, occasionally looking over at (Y/N) with frowns in their faces. She wasn't sure how much time had passed since she had been taken out of the lab but soon, she noticed that the two adults went quiet. They both turned toward (Y/N) at the same time, making her look down nervously.

"(Y/N)" the black-haired man spoke, she wasn't used to someone calling her by her actual name, she was surprised that she even remembered it. The little girl didn't break eye contact with the man who smiled softly.

"My name is Shota Aizawa, I'll be taking care of you from now on" he said.
