Once Olivia was back in Guadalajara, Max kept texting her. At first she didn't answer because she was still mad he had lied about Ashley being there and also about standing her up. But after a couple of days spent with her mother, who had a special talent for nagging Olivia and driving her insane, Max's actions didn't seem so bad. At least he had apologized.

After a dinner on which Olivia's mother wouldn't stop criticizing her hairstyle choices with her new scar, Olivia felt ready to leave.

"Can't I just leave for Puerto Vallarta and you'll meet me there in a few days?" asked Liv pleadingly to Checo when it was just them two at the kitchen.

Checo laughed "Liv it's not that bad".

"Easy for you to say golden boy" said Olivia rolling her eyes. In the eyes of Olivia's mother, Checo could do no wrong, meanwhile it seemed like everything Liv did was absolutely wrong.

"Liv we are staying here for three more days and then we are spending the rest of the month at the beach, you can stand three more days can't you?" he said.

"Oh I can stand three more days, I just don't know if my mental sanity can stand three more days" she said frustratedly.

"Oh, by the way Pato is joining us at Vallarta" said Checo casually.

"Oh alright, yeah that will be nice" said Liv feeling a little better. In three days she would be at the beach with Checo, Carola, the kids, and Pato. That sounded kind of great.

Those three days in Guadalajara felt eternal. Olivia tried to stay out of the house as much as possible. She loved Guadalajara, she just didn't have many friends there since she left as a teenager. She caught up with a couple of childhood friends, ate at some delicious restaurants, and tried to stay far away from her mother.
