Yes, Dekisugi was the student who left the windows open. In my school, and I'm assuming in most Asian schools, it's the student's job to close the windows. Typically, one student will be assigned each week - or day, depending on the teacher - to close them.
The burnout descriptions and feelings were very heavily self-projected, upon. I feel incredibly hollow and I sort of went over the exact same cycle, except the fact that I didn't have a Dekisugi to help me and just ended up reading Hurt/Comfort fics and got to the realization that 'Hey, I kinda feel that way, too. Oh, that's not healthy? Huh.'
