We're driving down the road
I wonder if you know
I'm trying so hard not to get caught up
But you're just so cool
Run your hands through your hair
Absentmindedly making me want you

Hyebin leaned back in the passenger seat, watching the world pass by as Doyoung drove down the winding road. The streetlights streaked past, casting fleeting shadows across the dashboard. The gentle hum of the engine filled the silence between them and she tried her best to face forward and watch the city lights blur by, praying he couldn't hear her heartbeat pounding in her chest.

Yet she couldn't help but steal glances at him from the corner of her eye, admiring the way he effortlessly navigated them back to the safety of their homes, his hand casually resting on the steering wheel. "Do you want to play some music?" he asked her as he passed her his phone.

"Oh, um I don't know, I'm not the best DJ when I'm nervous," she awkwardly laughed out.

Stupid, I didn't have to SAY I'm feeling nervous. As if it's not already obvious enough. Why do I even feel this way. We've been friends forever, what's wrong with me suddenly?

"Don't worry, I actually pride myself on my extremely vibe specific personally curated playlists. Just open my Spotify and there should be one called 'night drive' with a rain cloud emoji." Hyebin immediately opened the app to search for the playlist, but she couldn't help but notice the tiny crack in his facade as he shifted slightly in his seat.

Guess I'm not the only one feeling nervous. Something has definitely changed between us. Just stay cool and act normal.

"Wow, I obviously knew you're a big music guy, but you've never told me you were so sentimental," she lightly teased him as she scrolled through countless playlists, all titled with different emotions and occasions.

Although he kept his composure, she noticed the way his ears involuntarily began to turn a bright red as he laughed in response. "There's a lot you don't know about me yet," he said, glancing over to look her in the eyes.

?

"yet..."!!!!!!!!
Staycoolstaycoolstaycool. ACT NORMAL!

The music started to play softly in the background, the lyrics weaving through the air like a gentle breeze. Hyebin couldn't shake the feeling that the song was speaking directly to her, echoing the thought swirling in her mind.

As they continued their journey, Hyebin found herself lost in her own head. She wondered if Doyoung could sense the turmoil within her, the emotions bubbling beneath the surface. She tried to keep her composure, challenged herself to appear unaffected by his presence (level: impossible).

Doyoung glanced at her briefly as if reading her mind, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips before returning his attention to the road ahead. His easy confidence only served to heighten Hyebin's admiration for him, making her heart flutter more with every passing moment.

She couldn't deny the pull she felt towards him, the magnetic attraction that seemed to draw her closer with each second. His mere presence had a way of making her feel alive, igniting a fire within her that she had never known existed.

Hyebin couldn't help but engrain into her memory the way Doyoung absentmindedly ran his hand through his hair and gently shook his head so each piece of hair fell perfectly back into place. She found herself longing to reach out and touch him, to feel the warmth of his skin beneath her fingertips again.

But she resisted the urge, knowing that she had to tread carefully. They weren't dancing this time and they weren't a couple, it'd be weird to just grab his hand suddenly. She didn't want to risk jeopardizing their friendship by giving in to her delusional fantasies. She tried to push the thoughts from her mind, to focus on the passing buildings, but it was proving to be a difficult task.

But as they continued to drive down the road, Hyebin couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted between them. There was an unspoken tension lingering in the air, a palpable energy that seemed electric with possibility.

And as they drove on into the night, Hyebin couldn't help but imagine where this journey would take them next.
