Chapter Twenty
Scale Number: 3 (Shower)
Cat stirred, drifting in and out of consciousness, a warm sensation surrounding her, lulling her back into a safe blanket of dreams. Ones that didn't consist of her muscles screaming at her in pain; ones where the pleasure could easily wash away the stinging.
Although the ache in her shoulder was nowhere near as profound as the one in between her thighs.
A realization that caused her eyes to fly open, staring at the see-through plastic cup in front of the ice bucket that was still sitting on the nightstand, from where he had left it. She looked over her shoulder, shifting just enough to see the slumbering man behind her. Her heart seized as panic started to spread through her slowly, holding her breath so she didn't start to hyperventilate.
She had to calm down otherwise it would be impossible to think rationally.
Although it seemed it was already impossible to keep her thoughts straight with his naked body touching her. Taking steady breath, she slowly started to inch her way to the edge of the bed, slighting out from under his limp arm. Every other second, stopping to look back to make sure the smooth lines of his face were still relaxed with sleep.
Swallowing, she dropped one leg to the ground, then the other. Awkwardly wiggling her way to the ground in her attempt to be stealthy. Once she was free, she waited a couple of moments, waiting to make sure she hadn't woken him anyway. But the only thing he did was shift slightly, hugging his pillow closer to his head with the arm under it, while the other frightened where she had just been.
Taking a deep breath she tiptoed over to where her plastic bag of clothes sat, wincing with each step. That man's monstrous appendage had definitely bruised her insides, possibly even rearranged a couple of her organs. Reaching for the extra scrubs a kind nurse had given her from the Lost and Found at the clinic she'd gone to almost right after the attack. She paused when the bag shifted noisily, which meant if she were to pull anything out, it would definitely wake him up.
Having stashed the gun she'd taken with her outside the free care facility, only to pick it up when she'd left again, she now wondered if she would be able to get it out from where it was now hidden in her spare top.
"You'd have one shot, little girl, and you better make it count. Otherwise your punishment will make last night seem mild in comparison."
His voice makes her jump, turning to see him still laying in the same position, with his eyes closed and everything. His threat sent a ripple down her spine, one she tried to ignore. The evidence that he knew its effect on her appeared as a smug smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth.
Cat didn't doubt for one second that he'd been holding something back last night as he'd assaulted her. Not when he clearly had plenty of strength to do whatever he wished. After all, how else had he gotten away from all of those men alive?
"If I shot you, would you even die?" She asked under her breath, crossing her arms and shifting her weight so that she was covering herself as much as she could without drawing unnecessary attention to her.
The question made him roll to his back, folding his hands behind his head as he opened his eyes to finally look at her. "What would make you ask that?" His eyebrows furrow because of her inquiry, not caring that he was still stark naked without a care in the world.
Turning her head away, not that it mattered since the blush crept down her neck, to keep from having to look at him directly. Opening her mouth to remind him of his ability to find her when she left no trail. Or of the inhuman speed and strength he continued to display. Not to mention he sounds he was prone to make, like the ones from the night before. Only she snapped her mouth closed again, knowing no matter how logically she tried to word it, it would make her sound insane.
