Arbor: a Honkai Star Rail Fanfiction
(P.S. — If you're reading this, there's a lot of lore from Honkai Star Rail, so it won't make sense unless you've played the game.)
Prologue–Jinyin
The purple-haired girl was in a corner, crying. Her hair was wet and sticky, her face was red, and her fingers were smeared with blood. She shivered.
"People are dying..."
"It's alive, isn't it?"Jinyin's heart skipped a beat as Bailu nodded her head, dejected. "No..."
"It was...me." Tears fell from her face. "I tried...magic...it didn't..."
Jinyin didn't know what to say.
"I..." She stood up. "I'll end that tree — no, that thing, for good."
She started walking out of the clinic, but stopped.
"Bailu?" She said, turning around. The girl looked up.
"You'd better start treating those patients."
JInyin ran. Her feet pounded on the pavement as she prayed, as roots strangled buildings around her. As mindless chaos filled her entire world.
She hoped that her friends would stay alive.
In a time like this, though...
it was uncertain.
Nothing was certain.
