CAMERON (POV)

As I attempted to immerse myself in the thrill of the new F1 mobile racing game, my phone buzzed incessantly with notifications, breaking my focus. With a sigh of irritation, I tossed it aside, hoping for a moment of peace.

"Yup, just as expected, you're being your charming self again," came the familiar voice that had become a constant presence in my life for the past month."What's up, Annoy-at?" I retorted, relishing in the nickname that never failed to elicit a reaction from her.

I could practically feel her eyes rolling as she muttered "asshole" under her breath before retreating to a corner with her book, determined to ignore my existence.

I couldn't help but resent Mr. Knight for imposing her presence on me for an entire week. Despite my attempts to protest, the fact that he was both my father and the owner of the Ferrari team left me with no choice but to begrudgingly accept.

Glancing up, I observed her engrossed in her reading, her lips forming a subtle pout as she delved deeper into the pages. It was a small detail, but one that I couldn't help but notice – a trait that surfaced whenever she was lost in concentration.

"You know your phone's ringing, right? Or have you gone deaf?" she interrupts her reading for a split second to throw a jab my way.

I roll my eyes. "Look, your boyfriend is calling," I tease, glancing up at her with a smirk.

"My—what—shut up, I don't have a boyfriend," she snaps, her irritation evident.

"Of course you do! It's Harper. Maybe I should give him a ring and let him know," I suggest, barely able to contain my amusement as I watch her flush with embarrassment.

Thank goodness for the stroke of luck that had me overhear her conversation with her best friend on her first day at the job, confessing her adoration for Max. Now I had the perfect ammunition to tease her whenever I pleased.

"Don't you dare, Knight—" she warns, lunging for my phone in a futile attempt to silence me.

"You know the drill, pint-sized minion. Even with a heroic leap, you won't reach my lofty height, let alone snag the phone," I jest, stretching tall as if on a mission to dial Harper's number.

But then, with a burst of determination, she jumps up beside me, her frustration palpable as she tries to snatch the phone."I'll raid your protein bar stash, I swear it! Just hand over the phone!" she exclaims, her breath quickening as she reaches for my hand. I can't help but laugh at her relentless pursuit.

As she gives me an unexpected shove, I stumble backward and land ungracefully on the bed, rolling my eyes at her triumphant victory dance. With a mischievous grin, she hangs up before Harper can even answer, clearly reveling in her playful sabotage.
