In general, it's great. The story progresses quite well, and I love the pacing. I also love the way you have actively shown how the political and social situations of the time affect the daily lives of the characters, especially as they are active in that sphere. Also, it would be great if you made the blurb a little shorter. The grammar is not bad, but do pay a little more attention to it.

All in all, the story and characters are great. The pacing also works well. However, the language seems slightly clumsy. The sentences are long and thus make the grammar and syntax suffer. It feels like a word-to-word translation of the German text, not an English story.
