EXT- BARTON FARM- DAY

[We open on a closed casket. We then pan across the mourners, Hawkeye's family, some people we don't recognize and finally, the West Coast Avengers- all trying their best to look as smart as possible, everyone is in formal attire (Orb has hung a tie off his robot neck), everyone looks smart apart from Leapfrog, who looks like his usual froggy self. Carol Danvers walks up to Doreen and hands her several cue cards.]

SG: What are these?
Carol: Your speech.
SG: (disappointed) Really? It's his family they should know the-
Carol: Nobody should know. Nobody will know,?
SG: I won't lie to them.
Carol: Then you won't be an Avenger.

[Captain Marvel stares at Squirrel Girl, seemingly waiting for Doreen to make the "right" decision.]

SG: Fine.

[Doreen takes the cards from Carol and steps up in front of everyone.]

SG: Hello everyone, I'm Doreen. Clint Barton was a great guy, I didn't know him for as long as some of you guys but I knew him long enough to know that he was a great guy. He cared for everyone... Even to his end when he...

[Doreen looks at the card in disbelief, she sighs and reluctantly contines.]

SG: ...saved our team from that gas explosion. We are all deeply saddened by his untimely passing and give our sincerest condolences to his family.

[She looks over to Hawkeye's kid, and specifically at the youngest. A boy no older than 7, crying his eyes out. Doreen returns to where she was, standing next to her double.]

SG2: You okay?
SG: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm great. Amazing, even.

SG2: It's a funeral, you're allowed to be sad.
SG: They should know.
SG2: That he was killed by a monster?
SG: To save them! He... he deserved better.

[They stand in silence as the coffin is lowered into the ground.]

INT- BARTON HOUSE- CONT.

[Squirrel Girl picks up a sandwich off an overly designed platter. She sits down next to Lila.]

SG: Hey, um...
Lila: Yeah, I know. You're sorry for my loss, just like everyone else.
SG: Well, I...
Lila: Don't. I've heard it all already.
SG: Right, sorry.

[A beat.]

SG: I never met my dad. He left before I could remember. My mom never talked about him, I don't blame her. I spent years imagining what he'd be like. I imagined that he was a superhero, that he was saving people's lives across the world.

[Doreen laughs to herself.]

SG: Then, when I was ten, my mom, she... She died. She died and I was all alone. I was at her funeral and I thought to myself 'He'll be here, he'll be here and he'll tell me that everything will be okay.'
I spent ages waiting for him. I kept looking over to the church's door, just so I didn't miss him coming in... He never came. Not even a quick visit. And once again, I was all alone.

[Doreen sighs.]

SG: I guess, what I'm saying is... Don't be alone, especially now. You have your family and they're hurting too. Don't hurt alone, alright?
Lila: He didn't even say goodbye...
SG: Sometimes you don't get goodbyes. Sometimes you just have to deal with see-you-laters.
Lila: I miss him. So much.
SG: I know.

[Doreen thinks.]

SG: I'm not supposed to tell you this but...

[The camera cuts to Carol Danvers, so turns to see Squirrel Girl whisper something into Lila's ear. Lila looks at Squirrel Girl with surprise. Doreen sadly nods. Lila begins to cry, Doreen comforts her. Carol walks over to Squirrel Girl 2.]

Carol: What did she say to Lila?
SG2: Who?
Carol: The other you.
SG2: I don't know.
Carol: How could you not know?
SG2: We're technically different people, Carol.

[Carol walks off frustrated.]

SG2: (to Speedball) What's up with her?
Speedball: Her time of the month, I'm guessing.
SG2: Shut the fuck up.

EXT- BARTON FARM- A FEW MINUTES LATER.

[The WCA stand outside. The Quinjet- a large high-tech plane- lands in the middle of the field. Carol walks up to Squirrel Girl.]

Carol: What did you say to her?
SG: I told her what she needed to know.
Carol: I told you what you could and what you couldn't-
SG: It's what an Avenger would do.
Carol: An Avenger would listen to an order.
SG: An Avenger is not a soldier. An Avenger is someone who does what is right, and lying to Client's family was not the right thing.
Carol: (sighing) You're just like Tony.

[Carol flies off.]

SG: So...

[The WCA turn around.]

SG: Should we head back?
Ultra: We're right behind you, Doreen.
SG: Anyone hungry? I want a burrito.
Husk: I could go for a burrito.
Orb: There are 35 places that sell burritos within 3 miles of the mansion.
SG: Thanks, Orb.
Leapfrog: I want frog legs.

[Everyone turns to Leapfrog, surprised.]

Leapfrog: Oh, so if I do it, it's weird but it's fine when (GAMECOCK) ways chicken.
Gamecock: I'm stuck in my chicken costume.
Leapfrog: Low blow man.
SG: Guys!

[Everyone turns back to Squirrel Girl.]

SG: Let's go get burritos.

[They all agree and walk to the Quinjet. Squirrel Girl stops at Hawkeye's grave.]

SG: I'm gonna do you proud, Clint.
SG2: Doreen! Hurry up!
SG: (to the grave) See ya, boss.

[Doreen runs onto the Quinjet. The ship's door closes. The Quinjet lifts off the ground and flies away.]
