I stand alone in front of the gymnasium, deserted now that my friends have left. It's 2 AM, and my friend has just won her pageant. Despite my overwhelming fatigue, I stayed, supporting her until the very end, and her victory was well-deserved.
As I wait for my ride, memories of the evening flood my mind, including the curious glances of a man from the opposite bleacher. It's amusing, really, considering I'm not even a contestant. But amidst the laughter and cheers, there was a moment of embarrassment.

He must be handsome, I thought, but it's hard to say for sure. His identity remains a mystery, hidden behind that mask. What if he's someone unexpected? It's a fleeting thought, quickly dismissed.
"Why naman so tagal niyo tehh, kanina pa ako kinakagat ng mga mosquito here. Aishh my skin is so red na huhuhu" saad ko kina ate na kararating lang.
"Ang arte mo, kala mo naman ikinaganda mo!" She teased, tapping me lightly.
"Hello, I know I'm beautiful," I retorted, pouting playfully.
"Let's go na, your pamangkin is alone at home," she reminded, urging me to get into their car.
"Uhhh, I'm so sleepy na talaga huhuhu, I'm puyat na naman, masisira ang beauty ko nito," I complained dramatically, earning a playful smack from my sister.
"Arte mo"
"Ouchh! Why naman you batok me, it's masakit kaya" saad ko and kinuha ang phone ko sa bag ko.
Uhhh, before I forget, do I really have to introduce myself? Author, seriously? Hmm, never mind, no respond as if it's a big deal.
