Prolouge of Sadness (WHO WROTE THIS??? Obviously not me!)

I tried to stop them, but they fell.

  They crumpled and broke on the ground, blood spattering their colorful costumes.  

They fell.  

They left us.   

They left me.  

They’re never coming back.  

I sat up in my small hiding place for the night, knocking my head in the process.

Tears streaming from my eyes, I screamed.  

I screamed in sorrow for them.  

I screamed in anger for the ones who took them away.  

I screamed in fear as I noticed a creeping, shadowy figure who was walking by, suddenly stop and turn towards me with a maniacal grin on his face.  

“Hey, little kiddie!” He cackled, “You lost your mommy?”  

I curled in my legs and tried crawling away from the man, sobbing and pleading at him to leave me alone.  

Then, I stopped - petrified with fear - as I noticed a knife, glinting in the moonlight, in the man’s hand.  

I screamed.
