Marty, Mariah, Katie, Brandon, Gloria, and Melman run to Alex, who gets up as Mariah helped him.

"Are you alright?" Mariah asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Alex answered.

Alex looks down to find a purse from the old day and goes through it. Melman looks up to see something as he walks slowly to there.

"Are you out of your mind? We need help, and you're harassing old ladies?!" Gloria asked.

"Out of my mind? Aha! Who's out of my mind now?" Alex asked as he dialed a number on the phone.

"See if you can get an operator." Katie said.

"No problem. Out of my mind. We're going home." Alex said.

Mariah walks with the others, except Alex, who was waiting for the call while it was ringing. Alex then realized and followed along. All they could see a beautiful view. Alex decided to close the phone and stared in awe like the others.

"Am I trippin'?" Gloria asked.

"I don't think so." Katie said.

"All those zebras... like me." Marty said.

"Wait. Where are we anyway?" Mariah asked.

"San Diego. This time, I'm 40 percent sure." Melman said.

"It doesn't look like it." Katie said.

"I know this place." Alex said.

"I think it's Africa." Marty said.

"Africa?" Melman asked.

"Are you sure that we are in Africa?" Mariah asked.

"It's got to be. Our ancestral crib. It's in our blood. I can feel it!" Marty said.

"No, it's more than that. It's like...I've been here before." Alex said.

"It's like Roots!" Marty said.

"No, it's like...I've been here before." Alex said.

"You already said that." Brandon said.

"I guess we can go over there and ask for help." Mariah said.

The gang walked to the animals.

"How!" Alex said to start speaking.

The animals all put their attention to the gang.

"How!" Alex said.

They all still stared at them.

"Me, Alex! Me and me friends fly, fly in great metal bird." Alex said as he moved around.

"Then plummet!" Alex said and whistled of how the plane crashed.

"Smash ground," Alex said as he lay down of the ground.

Alex gets back up to tell more.

"Go boom! Then here we emerge. We offer only happiness and good greetings." Alex said as he still moved around.

"Is he dancing about a plane crash?" One of the female hippos asked.

"Yeah. We just... yeah. I thought... Sorry." Alex said.

"What he was saying is that we all need help." Mariah said.

"You mean you came from off the reserve?" One of the male giraffes asked.

"Yeah, way off. From the Central Park Zoo, actually." Alex said.

The animals were shocked and mumbling, and the gang was confused. Suddenly, Zuba come through the animals and roars to get their attention, including the gang. Mariah got scared a little bit and hid behind Alex, and Alex put his arm around her waist for protection.

Zuba coughs after roaring, and his wife Florrie comes out behind and stands next to Zuba.

"Don't strain yourself." Florrie said.

"What's going on here? What's all this hubbub?" Zuba asked the animals.

"They say they're from off the reserve." The elephant said as he pointed to the gang.

"That's impossible. Only people come from off the reserve." Zuba said, and he walked up to the gang, and all might. They come closer to each other.

"You look familiar. Do I know you?" Alex asked.

"How could you possibly survive the hunters?" Zuba asked the gang.

"We didn't see any hunters when we got here." Mariah answered.

Alex stares closely to Zuba.

"What are you looking at?" Zuba asked.

"Me? Nothing." Alex answered.

"This watering hole doesn't need any more mouths to feed. So skedaddle back to where you came from." Zuba demands to the gang.

"Okay. Is there a manager we could talk to?" Alex asked.

"Oh, I see. You're here to challenge me!" Zuba shouted angrily.

Florrie looks closely to Alex.

"What? No! No." Alex said.

"That's what it looks like to me!" Zuba shouted.

"Hold on, Zuba! Wait." Florrie said as she walked up to them.

Florrie pushes Zuba and starts to realize something while looking at Alex.

"Woman, I'm trying to take care of business..." Zuba said.

"Yeah, yeah, Zuba. Hold on." Florrie said as she interrupted Zuba

Zuba rolled his eyes.

"Alakay?" Florrie asked, and Zuba was surprised to hear that name.

"Is that you?" Florrie asked.

"No, it's Alex. lx. Like New York Knicks." Alex replied.

Florrie holds Alex's hand out and sees the mark.

"Zuba, look!" Florrie said.

Zuba takes a look at it and examines it.

"I've always had that. The vet checked it out. It's kind of a beauty spot, really." Alex explained.

"A mark." Zuba said.

"All right, this is a little weird." Alex said as he got confused.

"Honey, he's come home." Zuba said.

"What?" Alex asked.

Zuba shows his paw that has the same mark.

"You've come home." Zuba said.

Alex puts his paw up by Zuba's, and they both have the same mark.

"Whoa." Alex said.

"Son." Zuba said.

Alex looks at him and finally remembers him.

"Dad." Alex said.

Zuba nods 'yes'.

"Mom and Dad? Mom and Dad!" Alex said.

"Yeah!" Zuba shouted happily.

"Mom and Dad! It's my mom and dad!" Alex shouted.

They both give Alex a hug.

"I got a mom and dad!" Alex shouted happily.

"My baby's alive!" Florrie said happily.

"Dad!" Marty said.

The gang also gives the parents a hug, too.

"My son! My son is home!" Zuba said to the animals.

The animals cheered happily.

"Alakay! Alakay has come home!" One of the animals shouted.

As the crowd kept on cheering for the return of Alakay, Makunga and Teetsi were at the back to look at the scene.

"Alakay! Yeah! The prodigal son returns. This is perfect!" Zuba shouted.

"I thought you hated Zuba." Teetsi said.

"No, I do. I do. I do. I hate him. Oh, I do. And I'm going to use Alakay, yes. I'm going to use him to get rid of Zuba once and for all!" Zuba explained.

Just in the distance, two familiar faces join the group. It was King Julien and Maurice riding on the flamingoes.

"Giddy-up, feathered horse!" King Julien said.

"Make way! Move out of the way! Stand aside!" Maurice shouted.

"New York! It's a bit of a dump. Are you sure we're not in New Jersey? Hello, New Yorkers! Your new king is here!" King Julien said.

"This calls for a celebration!" Zuba shouted.

King Julian thought it meant for himself like he thought Zuba was talking about Julien.

"Maurice, I think they like me." King Julien said.

"You've got to love a non-hostile takeover!" Maurice shouted.
