PURI, ODISHA

The season was in a state of transition, with winter bidding its farewell and summer's fiery embrace still a few miles away.

In a grand and spacious room, the French widow door stood wide open, inviting the gentle breeze to dance through the space. Upon the threshold sat Alankrita Samantha Sinhar, the esteemed legacy carrier of the illustrious Sinhar family. Her posture exuded an air of nonchalance as she perched carelessly on the edge of the door, lost in her fictional world.

She sat in her cozy reading nook, adorned in comfortable blue shorts and a soft camisole. Her long, flowing hair cascaded down her shoulders, a few strands playfully dancing in the wind, refusing to be tamed. Her reading glasses perched delicately on her nose, her eyes intently focused on each word of the novel spread out before her.

In moments of uncertainty and confusion, Alankrita always found solace in the pages of a good book. It allowed her to escape into different worlds, to experience a myriad of perspectives, and to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of human nature.

The novel she was currently engrossed in captivated her with its intricate plot and compelling characters. The central narrative revolved around a forbidden love story between a woman and her sworn enemy. The tension between them was palpable, an elephant-sized force that crackled with both passion and animosity. They were drawn to each other like moths to a flame, unable to resist the magnetic pull that existed between them, Unlike them.

Day after tomorrow, Alankrita's engagement to Abudaya Mohanty, the one and only Waste products of Nepotism of Mohanty's, was scheduled to take place. It was the same Abudaya whose doll she had broken in a fit of childish rage, the same Abudaya whom she had pushed into a muddy drain, earning him the unflattering nickname "Asur." Eww

She couldn't help but recall the countless childhood altercations she had with him. He had pulled her hair, teased her relentlessly, and even eaten her chocolates without asking.

Their rivalry had been legendary in their neighborhood.

However, something has changed within her after their recent vacation. Suddenly, Abudaya seems different. He is no longer the annoying boy she remembered. Instead, she finds herself drawn to his quiet strength and gentle nature. She catches herself sneaking glances at him, admiring his handsome features and the way he makes her laugh.

She folds her legs tightly to her chest, her head resting heavily upon them. Her gaze is directed towards the moon, its ethereal glow casting a soft light upon her face. But her mind is far away, lost in the memories of their vacation.

He took all of her tantrums with a smile, from waking up at 3 am, sacrifice his beauty sleep, to watching the beautiful sunrise with her, just because She wanted. He even provided her with the hope and support she needed to pursue her dreams and embrace her true self, rather than concealing it. Sometimes, it was important to prioritize your own desires over the expectations of others and to listen to the voice of your heart. Interestingly, your mind also approved of this approach.
