Rainy Day

3rd Person POV

The morning of the next day came rather soon. The sun which had been shining in the most beautiful way for the past days was nowhere to be found, instead the sky was grey as if a sudden wave of sadness had overcome it. If the grey clouds weren't enough already, they had been pouring all night and hadn't intended to quit during the day either. This was going to be a rainy day, perfect for staying at home all day and doing nothing.

The morning was different after Lyney alarm took a severe damage and now most likely required a funeral. It was bad because this way we had no actual clue when to get up but at the same time I got some sleep this night and could sleep much longer in the morning too.

I woke up to rain and a dark sky and really didn't have the urge to get up at all. My energy for going out with anyone had been fully used over the last days so now I had none left for going outside at all. I sank back into my bed. This wasn't gonna work, I would have to look for Gaming tomorrow.

„Fremi? Are you okay?", Lyney kneeled down in front of me and looked at me a bit worried. He always assumed the worst when truly I was just tired. „Mhm. Just tired.", I responded. I didn't have the intention of communicating with anyone for the next 24 hours. I was perfectly fine with laying in bed. „You slept for quite some time more than usual and I didn't really want to disturb your beauty sleep your highness but someone's here to see you.", Lyney smirked at me with that evil smirk of his and got up to leave. Truly an amazing brother to leave me with some random person while I had woken up just about half an hour ago.

The ‚random' person wasn't random at all. When the door of our hotel room opened, a familiar face appeared. „HIIIII! I wasn't sure where we would meet and since this is pretty much the most popular hotel in Liyue Harbor I assumed I'd find you here and Lyney told me you're not feeling too well so I brought you some food and since the weather is bad I brought some card games we could play! Only if you're okay with it though." , Gaming was off to a good start as usual. By the way his clothes were wet I assumed he probably came here, talked to Lyney, grabbed some stuff and then came back which was really sweet, I do have to admit that.

„I'm not that experienced with card games actually... But I know how to do some magic tricks with them that Lyney taught me.", I said. I wish I was lying when I said I had no experience, anyone knows how to play card games but back at home we never had family game nights, if anything we had discussions about missions. But Gaming was absolutely unbothered: „Well that's fine, not everyone plays them! I can teach you how to play if you'd like!"

My energy was slowly recovering. I would've never thought I would get to play a card game on a rainy day but here I was. „Uno", I said for the probably 10th time now.

Gaming, who sat across me stared at the 17 cards he had in his hand with horror: „I should've never taught you how to play, you're making me look reeaally bad here.." he looked back down on his cards and on the green two that was on top of the stack. He groaned and reached for the other stack to pull yet another card which was probably not green either since he stuffed it into the cards on his hand and stared at me expectingly but also like he was begging me to just end his misery. I placed my card on the stack: „Well.. you tried.." „HOOOW. How are you better than me when you just learned how this works.. I haven't won a single round!!", Gaming complained and pouted.

„Well.. maybe you just have to try harder.. don't challenge a magicians sibling it won't end well.", I replied. It felt unusual to me to make jokes like this but after all Gaming wasn't just anyone. He dramatically gasped: „Oh?!? Are you saying I am THAT bad?! Well bring it on Mr. Magicians little brother, I'll show no mercy this time!"
