Dani pauses as she's about to snack on Haerin because the sound of her heartbeat is so beautiful.
Haerin was walking home late from school since she was at a review session for a test, usually Hanni walks home with her but she's sick :( (And bc of plot)
Rin: [eyes squeezed shut for the worst to come because she's cornered in an alleyway and can't escape]
Dani: [pauses centimeters before her fangs touch Rin's neck]
Rin: [opens one eye when she doesn't feel anything, not even breathing]
Dani: "You're heartbeat..."
Rin: [Oh my God it fucking talks???]
Dani: [pulls away to see Rin's face, still holding onto her arms tightly] "It's beautiful..."
Rin: [stifles a wince from how hard she's holding on][opens mouth to yell] "Somebo-"
Dani: [quickly clamps mouth shut] "Shhh..."
Rin: [trembling, eyes widened in fear]
Dani: "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you..." [swallows a lump in her throat and licks lips] "My hunger can wait." [glances at nameplate on Rin's uniform][Kang Haerin... Hybe High School...][brushes Rin's uniform clean and takes a step back]
