The Cat Lover

You were sweeping when you noticed a cat outside the window. You crouched down to the windowsill, watching as the little calico prepared to pounce on a butterfly. You couldn't help but chuckle as the cat jumped but missed. Then you noticed something. Sebastian was suddenly next to you, watching the cat with bright eyes and a pink hue to his cheeks.

You couldn't help but furrow your brows a bit. Did he... like cats? Well, you had to admit, that was super cute!

After a moment, you cleared your throat, "Uh... Sebastian?"

The raven-haired butler snapped out of his trance and looked down at you, "Ah, Mx. (Name)." He smiled softly and looked back at the cat, "Such fascinating creatures, aren't they?"

"What, cats?" You asked, looking back at the little calico. Sebastian nodded and you hummed, "Yeah, they're great. Cute little guys. They can be mean though."

"When they're bothered, sure. But they are incredibly intelligent and... cute." You couldn't help but breathe a laugh, which made Sebastian a bit curious, "Did I amuse you somehow?"

You shrugged and looked up at him, "Well, it's just funny." You smiled, "You don't look like the type to like cute little things."

Sebastian grinned, "I think you'll find that I quite love cute little things."

You couldn't help but freeze. Was he... flirting? Well shit, there was another thing he was good at!

Sebastian seemed amused, giving your head a little pat, "I'm sure Mei-rin would appreciate some help with dishes."

And with that, he walked off.

You were just puting on your coat to leave work when you felt something brush against your shoulder. You looked up, half expecting a rat to have somehow made it past Sebastian's eagle eye, only to see the emo zest fest himself, inspecting a small black hair that he had plucked from your shoulder.

"This is a cat hair..." He looked down at you, "Mx. (Name), do you own a cat?"

You blinked your way out of your initial confusion to answer him, "Uh, yeah. I've got a kitten I'm taking care of back home." You couldn't miss the little excited gleam in his eye. It still surprised you to see such a childish excitement on the serious man. You raised a brow, "Do you... wanna see a picture?"

"Oh, if you don't mind!" Sebastian said, a smile on his pale face. You chuckled and took out your phone, opening up your photo app to show him the pictures you'd taken of the feisty little kitten. Sebastian looked at the pictures in awe, "Such a dear..." he said under his breath.

"Oh, he's a little ball of energy when he's not sleeping." You looked up at him, "Do you... wanna name him?"

"Me?" Sebastian raised a brow, "I'd love nothing more." He placed a finger on his chin, bending a bit to look back at the photos, "Hm... he's a charming little thing. Such a grumpy expression for such a tiny baby." He snapped, "Huxley!"

You tipped your head to the right a bit, "Huxley?" You couldn't help but smile, "Cute, I like it."

You arrived back at your apartment, shutting your door with a sigh. You immediately heard the sound of the little man himself meowing as he rushed up to you, rubbing up against your ankle while emitting loud purrs. You smiled warmly and crouched down.

"I got you something, bud." You said before taking out the little whie collar with a tag that read 'Huxley' along with your phone number, "Here's the reason I was out so late." You said as you careful fastened the collar around his neck. He squirmed a bit but eventually let you place the thing on him. You smiled warmly and pet his little head, "A nice name courtesy of my hit co-worker." You said with a boop to his nose.

He meowed and sneezed before bounding over to the bed and trying to climb up. You chuckled, lifting him up and placing him in the bed. He rolled on his back for a moment, batting at yout fingers, before rolling onto his side. He closed his eyes and let himself drift off.

You smiled, "Good idea." You said before laying back on bed with a sigh. After a while you passed out, completely unaware of the raven outside your window.
