The lunch went smoothly with an easy going banter between me and Lizzy, and luckily for the kids their mom was clocking out after our lunch. So we said our goodbyes to them, as they left and went to sit at the park to address the elephant in the room.
Honestly speaking I was nervous that Lizzy would reject my proposal even though it was not something I set out to do today it was definitely something for the future since I like her, I think she is the one I was waiting for all this long and to think that she might have rejected me that would have crushed me real proposal or not.
"So.." I started
"Yes so?" Lizzy said as we sat down on the bench facing each other
"I don't know what to say honestly" I said
"Well how about we start about the whole proposal thing? Wanna tell me what that was all about?" Lizzy asked
"Okay well--" I said only to be interrupted by my phone
I thanked the gods not knowing what I will say to her really
"I have to take this" I said as I stood up to answer the phone
"Hey Miss Evans, thank God you called" I said
"What? Why?" Miss Evans asked
"Oh nothing nothing, how are you?" I asked
"Mhm I'm good thanks and you?" Miss Evans asked
"Good too, so is there a problem?" I asked
"Well not really I have some papers that need your signature and a little problem that I want your insight on" Miss Evans said
"Alright, right now?" I asked
"Well yes please if you can" Miss Evans
" I'm busy at the moment why are saying this now I don't like last minute things" I said, little bit annoyed with her I don't like being bossed around sure she is nice about it but still why not tell me sooner
"I know I'm sorry, my assistant was supposed to send you an email but she got sick all of a sudden and couldn't come to work for four days now" Miss Evans said
"Mhm alright I will be there" I said
"Thank you, again I'm sorry" Miss Evans said
"It's alright it can't be help, see you soon bye" I said
"Bye" Miss Evans said as she hang up
As annoyed as I'm glad I have a reason to escape Lizzy for now, I need to think before we talk about the engagement and I haven't got time to gather my thoughts
"So I have to leave as in now, I'm sorry we couldn't talk but you have my number now so we can arrange something" I said
"Mhm it better be soon Kaliegh you can't avoid this for too long" Lizzy said
" I'm not avoiding it. I just have important papers to sign at my company and a problem that needs my attention, we will definitely talk about this whenever you are text me and we will meet huh?" I said
" Fine I will text you" Lizzy said
"Great do you need a lift to your place?" I asked
"No I'm fine thanks" Lizzy said
"Alright as long as you are sure" I said giving her a quick hug "Bye"
"Bye" Lizzy said
I walked to my car, opened it and started the car and sent a wave to Lizzy as I drive away
