Today was finally Saturday, so I just had to get through today's shift before I could have my "date", with Eddie? I was still confused on what it really was, but I swore to myself that I would tell Eddie about my parents, and the house fire. So I just needed nothing crazy to happen today, and for people to act reasonable.
"LAFD. Step aside, please."
"Do you have a pen?"
Me and Hen crouch down to assess the lady, and she looked familiar to me.
"A pen? Why?" I ask.
"I got a partial license plate."
"It's on the back of the car." I snicker.
"No, this car didn't hit me."
I look at Hen, confused, before Chim chimes in.
"What do you mean this wasn't the car that hit you?"
"This car ran me over, but there was a car that hit me first! Ow!"
"Ma'am, just take it easy. We got to focus on getting you out." Bobby says.
"There should be enough room to slide a backboard underneath and pull her out." Buck says, while getting up from the ground.
"Okay, ma'am, what's your name?" I ask.
"L-Lorraine."
My brain immediately clicks on who she was.
"Oh my god, we know you. We know her." I say while turning to Hen and Chim.
"What? No, no you don't."
"Yeah we do. Last year, Hancock Park."
"Yes, you're right. I never forget a femur." Chim says.
"It's the dammed Porch Pirate." I snicker.
"The what?" Eddie asks.
"Don't tell me you don't know either." I look at him with my eyebrows raised.
"Yes?"
"Basically, the lady fell from the porch she was stealing packages from." I explain.
Eddie just bursts out laughing, but quickly hides it with a cough.
"Sorry, sorry."
"Hey," I whisper to Eddie, "is there anything I can bring for tonight?"
"Nope. It's all on me. Chinese food okay?"
"Yeah, it is." I laugh

"That smells delicious, Lia." Eddie says as he leans over my shoulder.
At the station Bobby did most of the cooking, but occasionally I took over. I was mostly known for my vodka pasta and fajitas. Today, I was making the fajitas.
"It should. I'm known for it." I say.
"Ahh, Eddie's never had Lia's cooking. Today's your lucky day then. Whenever she cooks, you know it's going to be a good day."
