After doing double the amount of housework and chores I am usually required to do - due to my stepmother being in a bad mood - it is late at night and I sneak back to my room. I wait a few minutes to make sure no one is still wandering around the palace and I take out the book once more. I blow the dust from the cover and open the book. After six years of having it in my possession I begin to read.

A sliver of wan sunlight appears by the time I have finished. While I did not understand what my mother was talking about when she gave me this book, now I understand. Here are the bare facts:

My mother was - to put it rather bluntly - a spy.
She worked for a covert society called the 'TSS.'
She continued her work after I was born, against my father's wishes.
Her job was to find out if someone was trying to harm the kingdom, and stop them from destroying our beautiful lands.

My mother died before she had finished her work, and was on the brink of discovering a man in a nearby kingdom who secretly had wishes to destroy our palace and take over our kingdom.

As much as all of this startles me, there is one thing that scares me even more.

She wants me to continue her work.
