To sleep I go
Praying to Hypnos
That I will sleep through the night
Without my minds fight
Yet in the back of my mind
There is another voice
Praying not to wake
To simply slip into sleep
Never to cry
Never have another choice
Another choice to make
Only sleep
Yet another emerges
Asking for the gods to ignore these intrusive thoughts
But is it an intruder to my mind?
If this is what I want
To be without another taunt
I only want to sleep
Only to be calm
Without pain
To not hear my brain
Oh how I wish
To sleep
To rest
To slip
To sleep
