Chapter 3

''''''''''''''''''Pari'''''''''''''''

Marriage for convenience

Marriage for convenience

Marriage for convenience

Marriage for convenience

Kept on repeating in my head as I tossed and turned on my bed for the whole night.

The sinking feeling in my stomach and the erratic beating of my heart when I was alone made me wonder if I did the right thing.

Oh shit!

He proposed

And I agreed

Shit!!! Double shit!!!! Triple shit!!! And the wedding is fake.

We both agreed to marry and for wrong reasons.

Shit we would be lying to our elders rather cheating them and however so I am brought up, I have been brought up better than this.

"I cannot do this". No wonder he is hot and handsome and any girl would drool over him but the arrogance urggh... it's pukish.

Well how does it matter to me, its fake and I am not even going to get to sleep... uhh... hold your horses Pari I shouted at myself as I had I decided determinedly to deny the stupid proposal and threw away the covers and walked to my phone that was on charging.

Yeah the old model needs overnight charging.

"Par PARI PPPPAAARRRIIII" the early morning yelling began and I rushed at my mother's service.

"Yes mummy"

"Where is my tea? You know I need it in the morning. I work so hard for you and you cannot even get a cup of tea in the morning." She complained.

"Sorry I'll get it in a bit " and I sprinted towards the huge kitchen on the first floor tying my hair into a knot so that the tea can be made quickly.

My mother gets really upset when her tea is delayed in the morning.

Quickly fishing out the pot and filling it with water, milk and tea granules, I filled the bowl with sugar and biscuits to avoid any wastage of time.

"I hope it is not as sweet as jaggery like yesterday," my mom said before picking up the mug.

"Dear you know she works so hard for the family the entire day you should help her." My father said calmly.

"Yes Pa and mom I kept the sugar separate, Pa likes less and you more so you can add accordingly." I suggested.

"See the way she reacts. I cannot even scold her. She teases me back, taunts me," my mom stated.

"No." I couldn't help the eruption of words "I didn't mean to."

"Now she is snapping at me. God knows I love her and take care of her like my own daughter yet she misunderstands me" she said and started sobbing in my dad's arms.

"I am so sorry I didn't mean to hurt you mom" I said and walked away with tears dwelled in my eyes.

Don't worry I wont cry. I am stronger than this. I take this everyday bullshit with an erect spine.

I went to the place that suits me best; the kitchen.

I better start cooking or I'll be late for my class again.

"Baby" my dad said and I jumped. I was not used to endearments.

"I am sorry Pa." I said before he could shout at me.
