MY GREEDY WIFE

"I need a girl for my son".

"Girl? But why?"
Mrs Russo rolled her eyes at the ridiculous question.

"I don't know. Maybe to get my son married".
Mr Busto looked ashamed at his own ridiculous self.

"Don't mind me. But, who will marry such a man". Ella, Mrs Russo's sister said mockingly.

A single glare from Mrs Russo shut her sister up.
"Don't talk in my son's business. He is my son and it's my duty to find him a perfect wife who can take care of him. Even in this condition".

"But, only a fool would marry him".

"Hm, May I say something, my lady?" Mr Busto silently interrupted the angry mistress of the house.

"What is it?" She asked in a fury.
"Don't mind this lowly life's words. But, your sister is right. No girl has accepted him after the accident".
Mrs Russo took a knife from the table.

"B-but. But, listen to me first". Mr Busto quickly backed off from the furious mistress.
"If you want a wife to take care of him, I will find one for you. Trust me".

Mrs Russo silently put the knife away as she sat back with a satisfied look.
"Hope, you find a trustworthy and pretty one".

"Y-yes, I will. No worries. Can I take my leave now?"
The mistress waved her hand.

Mr Busto quickly hit up and left.
"Only God can help me find a girl, who will marry Mr Russo".
He gulped in fear as he feared what will the mistress of the house do if he doesn't find one.

"Let's get to work"

__________

"How many times have I told you not to spend the money like that?"

"I told you that I needed that game. Everyone in my school have one".

"If they all jump from the terrace, will you join them too?"
The fierce voice of his elder sister made him look down in fear.

"Why are you scolding your brother? It's your fault that you can't earn enough money to run this family".
Everlyn Burro's mother said as she tried to console his son.

"Mother, you-"
"Enough. Did you get the paycheck or not?". Her mother asked her in a fury, eyes glinting in order to hear 'yes' from her daughter.

"Not yet. Boss said that the business is in under pressure. It might take another week before I get my paycheck".

Her mother sighed loudly before rolling her eyes.
"You are so useless. Can't even bring money in time, huh".
She said in distaste.

Everlyn looked down, ashamed to bring her mother's hope down.
"I apologize, mother".

"Aish, don't apologize. Just get another job".
Her mother said as she patted her son's head in adoration.

Everlyn saw that scene and felt hurt.
"Mother, I am already doing three jobs-"

"Don't give me that excuse. What's the use of three jobs if you can't fulfill our needs?"

"If you didn't spend every penny on shopping, we would have enough money". Everlyn muttered in silence.

"What did you say?". The glare of her mother made her shake her head in hurry.
"Nothing, mother. I will search for another job".
"Go away". Her mother took her brother inside.

"But, I am hungry". She said to the air.

She turned around to leave but was scared to death by a shadow.
"OMG! Uncle Fred, what are you doing?"

Her uncle, Fred Busto laughed at her niece's reaction.
" I am not doing anything. But, where are you going in this late afternoon?"
"To search for my sanity".

Her uncle scrunched his face in confusion.
"That exist?"

She looked at him with a plain face.
"Ha Ha Ha, very funny, uncle. You should consider a job as a comedian"

"Maybe I should". Fred says as he pretends to take her words in consideration.
"Oh, god, no". She said.

Her uncle laughed at her silly reaction.
"I am kidding. But, seriously, what are you doing outside? It's lunchtime. Did you eat anything?"

"If I go into that house with getting another job, then I am will be disowned, uncle Fred". She pointed at her house as if it's a devil's abode.

"Another job? You already work three jobs". Fred said in confusion.
"Three jobs and not enough money for my mother. So, yeah, another job".

Fred sighs in distress.
"My sister is another creature. Nothing can satisfy her".

"It doesn't matter. I still need money. I wish someone gave me the fortune of life". Everlyn continued her words as her uncle got lost in thoughts.

"I need a girl for my son".

"You need money, right?"

Everlyn nodded at her uncle's question.
"Can you do anything for it?"
She looked around to see if anyone is around.
"Do you want me to sacrifice myself to prove that?"

Her uncle smiled as a mysterious glint showed in his eyes.
"Don't worry, you don't have to do anything"

She showed a confused reaction.
"Meaning?"

He pat his niece's head.

"I have the perfect job for you, Everlyn".
