A Moonlit Promise

"They can never find out about us."

"Don't look so sad, soon enough we'll be far far away from everyone."

"Promise me one thing."

"What's that?"

"That you will meet me here, every Saturday night. And that you will never leave my side."

"I promise."

"Seal it with a kiss?"

"Seal it with a kiss."

Sonic woke up with tears in his eyes. He say up and wiped them away with the back of his hand.

"I have got to stop dreaming about that night." He sighed

He felt something warm touch his hand and he looked to see a figure sleeping in his bed. He early had a heart attack when he realized that it was one of his closest friends, Any Rose.

He gently woke her up shaking her, "Good morning, Sonic."

"What are you doing in my bed? More importantly how did you break into my house?" He asked her

"Your door was unlocked. I thought something had happened to you so I walked in. Thankfully nothing bad had happened. I was going to leave, but you started crying in your sleep so I decided to keep you company." She yawned sitting up

"You still broke into my house." He tells her getting out of bed

"It's not breaking and entering if the door was unlocked." She tells him also getting out of bed

"Just go home, Amy. I'm not in the mood today." He huffs

"You're never in the mood and that's the problem." She walks over to him and snakes her arms around his neck

He pulls away from her, "Stop it! I'm not into you!"

She frowns, "Why not?! I'm the only one here that cares about you! I'm the only girl that even takes your feelings into consideration!"

"Look I appreciate it, I really do. But I just can't see us together." He tells her looking away, "Just go home."

"Fine!" She stomps away, "See if I come and check on you again!"

Sonic sighs as he hears his front door open and then slam close. He has feelings for another person, but he can't let anyone know about this mysterious person. He has been with them for nearly two years. They have been meeting in secrets, every single Saturday night, under the moonlight, for two years.

Neither have them had missed a day, sometimes they don't even meet outside. Sometimes they meet in each other's house in case the other was sick or injured.

Sonic sighed again and walked into his bathroom and got ready for the long day ahead of him. He made sure that his quills were somewhat presentable and ran out of his house.

He ran to meet up with his youngest friend Tails. They were going to be working on the fox's plane that he had dubbed the X-Tornado.

Sonic remembers when he first rode on the plane. His lover just so happened to be outside that day and saw him. When they meet in secret that night, Sonic had gotten scolded for behaving so recklessly.

He stopped right at the edge of the Tails' garage, "Hiya, Tails."

"Hey Sonic." He greeted them hedgehog back, "You're here a bit early."

"I am? Oops. Well when you're the fastest thing alive I guess you can't tell time very well." Sonic joked

Tails laughed as well, "Guess so."

"So what are we working on today?"

"Calibration. The other day the X-Tornado was veering off to the left a little too much." Tails explained

"Sounds like a plan. Where do we start?"

Before they could do anything. Knuckles ran over to them, "We have trouble."

"Is it Eggman again?" Sonic asked him

"Yup. He's up to his old tricks yet again. He stole the Master Emerald." Knuckles told the two

"Again? Geez no matter how many times we stop him, he doesn't give up." Tails sighed

"At least he's consistent, I'll give him that." Sonic chuckles

"How many times have we defeated him this month alone?" Knuckles asked no one in particular

"I would say at least 20 times." Tails said rolling his eyes

"More if you count all of the other times we've delt with him." Sonic sighs, "I'll go on ahead. Catch up when you can!"

Sonic ran ahead and headed straight to Eggman's lab. He doesn't know why the mad scientist won't give up and just let them be. No matter how many times they defeat him.

Even when Sonic was a little kid and barely knew how to use his powers, he defeated Eggman. Even when he was stuck in a strange new world with all of his friends, he still defeated the man.

Sure there were times when they teamed up with Eggman, but that was only temporary and everyone got something out of it.

Sonic stopped and stood in front of the laboratory. He smirked and spun dashed into the metal door breaking it down. He carefully walked inside and came face to face with none other then Shadow the hedgehog.

"What are you doing here, Sonic?" The ebony hedgehog spoke

"Came here to stop Eggman. Are you going to stop me, Shadow?" He glared at him

Shadow smirked, "I also came here to stop him. He has something that I want."

"Good. Stay out of my way."

Shadow stepped off to the side allowing Sonic to pass by.

"Don't die." Shadow told him before Sonic could speed off

"I'm the fastest thing alive. There's no way I would die." Sonic smirked speeding off farther into the winding maze that was the lab.

... (Time skip cause I can't write good fighting scenes to save the life of me)

"Good job everyone!" Sonic smiled

"Amy how did you even get captured in the first place?" Tails asked her

"Ask Sonic!" She spat

Everyone looked at him.

"Care to explain." Knuckles growled

"Fine. I woke up this morning and she was in my bed. She broke into my house last night and when I woke up I told her to go home. She went on and on about how she likes me and I told her that I don't feel the same way. Then she finally left." Sonic explained

"You broke into his house?" Knuckles questioned

"It's not breaking and entering if the door was unlocked." Amy explained

"Amy you can't just walk into someone's house even if the door is unlocked. That's not right." Tails tells her

"Sorry for being worried about Sonic." She huffed

"I'm going to go home." Sonic says and speeds off

His friends watched as he races off never taking a second to actually slow down for once and take in the view.
