As the evening of the dinner party approached, Victoria and Olivia buzzed with excitement as they got ready in Victoria's dorm. The room was bathed in warm golden light from the string lights draped across the walls, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Victoria's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she caught Olivia's reflection in the mirror, fixing her hair.

"You look so good liv" Victoria remarked, admiring her friend. Olivia grinned, her cheeks flushed with excitement.

 "Thanks, Vic" the blonde grinned

As they finished getting ready, Victoria's phone buzzed with a text message from Caitlin, telling her that she couldn't wait to see her. Victoria felt a warm flush spread across her cheeks as she read Caitlin's message, her heart skipping a beat at the thought of seeing her later that evening.

Olivia, sensing Victoria suddenly smile at her screen, couldn't help but tease her relentlessly. "I've never even talked to Caitlin but I just know she's in love with you" she teased, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. Victoria rolled her eyes playfully, trying to brush off Olivia's teasing.

"Oh, please! Caitlin's just being friendly. We're just friends," she insisted, though her cheeks remained flushed with embarrassment.

But Olivia wasn't about to let it go that easily. "Uh-huh, sure you are," she replied, her tone laced with sarcasm as she continued to tease her friend.

As they made their way to Kate's house, the crisp autumn air filled with the scent of fallen leaves and anticipation

As Victoria and Olivia arrived at Kate's house, they were greeted by the warm glow of twinkling fairy lights and the comforting aroma of home-cooked food filled the air. The house was cozy and inviting, with team basketball trophies proudly displayed on shelves and walls, showing Kate's love for the sport.

As they stepped inside, they were greeted by the sound of laughter and chatter, the familiar voices of Jada, Gabbie, and Kate filling the air with warmth and excitement. "Hey guys" Kate exclaimed, enveloping Victoria and Olivia in a warm hug as they entered.

"So glad you could make it!" Victoria smiled warmly, returning Kate's hug with enthusiasm. "Thanks for having us, Kate. Your house looks amazing!" As they entered the house, Victoria introduced Olivia to Jada, Gabbie, and Kate, gesturing towards her with a proud smile.

"Hey, everyone, this is Olivia from when we crashed your practice," Victoria said with a playful grin, earning a round of laughter from the group. Olivia waved shyly, the attention being all on her.

"Hi, nice to meet you all," she said, her voice tinged with nervous excitement. Jada, Gabbie, and Kate greeted Olivia warmly, making her feel right at home. They exchanged stories and jokes, their laughter filling the room with joy.

As Victoria scanned the room, her eyes darted around in search of Caitlin, but she couldn't spot her anywhere. A sense of disappointment crept over her as she realized that Caitlin wasn't there. Turning to Jada, Victoria couldn't help but voice her curiosity.

"Hey, where's Caitlin?" she asked, her tone tinged with a hint of longing. Jada's lips curved into a playful grin as she caught  Victoria's face. "Why? Missing your lover girl?" she teased, her tone light and teasing.

Victoria felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment at Jada's teasing, but she couldn't suppress the smile that tugged at her lips. "Oh, come on, Jada," she protested, trying to play it cool despite the warmth that spread through her chest at the mention of Caitlin. "We're just friends."
