I am forced to live and love and laugh.
When I go outside for the first time since my walk, despite not looking or speaking to him,
My dad plays some of his favorite songs. He gets sad when I leave.
I text my friend, and despite being mute for hours,
They make me laugh.
My mouth is open. I am talking.
Suddenly, dinner doesn't sound so bad.
I take a sip of my water and when my dad asks what I'd like for dinner, I answer.
I am forced to eat,
Forced to talk,
Forced to laugh.
I am forced to live because I am loved.
