I sit at my window watching the rain. I couldn't stop thinking about Alec. I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss.

A hand suddenly knock my windows and Alec climbs up onto the tree branch. He is soaking wet. I open my window, he quickly climbs in and lays on the floor, panting.

"What's wrong with you?" I ask.

"You try walking three miles in the rain."

"You walked three miles in the rain?"

"For you."

I help him up.

He looks at me. "I wanted to talk to you, Crystal."

"Obviously."

"Crystal."

"Sorry."

I sit down on my bed and he sits next to me. He touches my hand and goosebumps arise on my arm.

"I kissed you and I liked it. I mean, I really liked it. Loved it, even. I didn't think that would happen. I thought if I kissed you my feelings for you would fade. I didn't want to have feelings for you."

I pull my hand away from his hurt. I know I'm a dork but is it so bad having feelings for me?

"You didn't want to have feelings for me? Am I really that bad?"

"Let me finish."

"Fine," I say.

"I didn't want to like you. But after a week of you avoiding me, I thought about it. You obviously liked the kiss maybe as much as I did."

"Wha... No I... I would...." I give up and nod my head.

He smiles. "And then I thought about it some more. I just couldn't get you out of my head. You or your soft pink lips."

I blush. He takes my hand.

"I mean, I guess I've crushed on you for a while," he says. "I just didn't want my feelings to be right."

He tucks a stray strand of hair behind my ear and leans in.

"It's hard not to be in love with someone so beautiful," he says.

What the hell...

He presses his lips to mine.

What is he doing? Omigosh. I'm not suppose to have feelings for Alec.

I pull away. Alec frowns.

"You don't like me. Then this is very embarrass--"

"Shut up, Alec."

"Wha--"

"Ssh."

He nods and I smile.

"I like you," I say.

"That's gr--"

I kiss him. He smiles into kiss and kisses back.

I hear a knock on my door and we both pull away.

"Crystal," Dad says.

"Just a minute," I say back.

Alec's eyes widen. I push him into my bathroom.

I walk over and open my door.

"Hey, Dad," I say.

"Hi. Were you talking to someone?"

"I was talking to the TV. Y'know, I was getting kinda frustrated that a girl and guy were in love with each other but they didn't do anything about it."

"Um... Okay. I'm going out. Do you want anything for McDonald's?"

"A chocolate shake and fries?"

"Okay. On the way, I'll take you home, Alec."

Alec peeks his head out of the door and I cringe.

"Hi Four," he says sheepishly.

Dad takes Alec by the collar. "When we get in the car, we'll have a talk about all the reasons this is wrong. Say goodbye and come downstairs when you're done."

Dad walks down the stairs.

I laugh. "I thought he would buy it."

"I did too," Alec says smiling.

"Bye, Alec."

"Bye, Crystal."

He walks down the stairs.

*•*•*•*•*

Alec and his friends walk down the hall at school. I wave at him. He looks at me, put his head down and keeps walking.

"I thought you said he liked you," Tyler says.

"That's what he told me."

"Doesn't look like it..."

"Shut up, dork."

"Hey. You and me we're the dorks here."

"Where's Christine?"

"Probably with Jay."

"I thought you guys were a thing?"

"She skipped on our date. She said she was sick but I caught her with Jay."

"Looks like we've both been blown off."

My phone buzzes.

Meet me in the janitor's closet -Alec

I show Tyler.

"Go," he says. "I got Opal."

Raina Opal, our dreadful math teacher.

"Thanks," I say walking away.

I open the janitor's closet and step in. There stands Alec. I glare at him.

"Hey," he says

"How nice of you to acknowledge my presence."

"I'm sorry okay? I just want the other guys knowing about us."

"Gee and I just told my best friend, your cousin, about us. And you can't tell your friends."

"I just... Don't want to tell them okay?"

"Fine."

He kisses me and pulls away. I smile.

"I'm skipping fourth period to hang with you at lunch," he says.

"Most of your jock friend have lunch at the same time."

"Who said anything about the cafeteria? Meet me on the top floor."

"Um... okay?"

"Now get outta here," he says slightly pinching my ass.

I playfully glare at him and he smiles.
