***Flashback***
I sat next to the girl I loved and I cried. Knowing that she might not wake up was looking me, and to think, it would be my fault if she didn't... I knew his man her brother was, and it seemed like he didn't come back for days. I don't know where he went, or what he did, but he didn't come back for at least three days. I just sat in the hospital waiting for her.
I watched my baby girl slowly die, and regretted every minute I didn't spend with her. Every second I didn't know who she was, and every millisecond I let her father ruin her. I regret everything I didn't do, and then, I got up, and I walked and walked. Just thinking. Until I came upon a store I'd walked into a thousand times. I walked through those doors and all of the sparkles and jewels stared at me. I waited to the front counter and asked for a simple silver ring with a place to fit a note. Of course the man looked at me like I was nuts, but I asked again, and he pulled a few out. I bought the prettiest one, and grabbed some paper and a pen. I wrote down what I was thinking through blurry eyes.
"This is my promise to you. I will love you infinitely. I I'll care for you, and never break you like this, again. I won't intended to hurt you. I won't ever do this to you, again. A part of me died green I found you laying there. I thought I was to late, and if your reading this, then I know I'm not. I'm so happy that you wrote up, it's been so long, and I've been waiting, but it is getting harder and harder to just sit here and watch you only be alive because if there machines. I love you, Clara. I don't ever want to hurt you. Please forgive me. Please. I know I don't deserve it, but please. I can't live without you. I need you. So, please, if your reading this, don't throw it away, take into consideration my request. My request being 'Can I be your forever? Will you forgive me, and I know I don't deserve it, but will you marry me?' I love you, Clara. Please. Just take it into consideration."
And, with that, I feel asleep.
